!When booking and they ask what preference you have for a massage therapist- ensure you tell them one without a scent allergy!
If you would like to know why- I will explain below.
The minute I was greeted by my massage therapist she was coughing excessively. In trying to make small talk, she said she was an asthmatic and she was sorry for coughing, but something was triggering her. Being an asthmatic I understand, So I asked, I am terribly sorry, could it be me? Perhaps my hair products or maybe some perfume transferred to my skin from my clothes. She initially said she wasn’t sure. When she left the first time I could hear her coughing in the other room and spitting and what sounded like retching. She came back apologized said suggested maybe it was the smoke from the fire pit she wasn’t sure. She left a second time to get her inhaler. So by this point I had only had about collectively maybe 15 minutes of a massage. Although I could tell she was rushed -when she did work on my back she was still very good. She said she could smell something from around my head which again it could be my shampoo could be perfume transfer I am unsure. Then abruptly she jumped up and stated she could not do this any longer, gagging I might add, she said, I will see about you getting a discount. I’ll let the front desk know, but she barely finished her sentence -ran off and left her inhaler in the room.
I left and waited for my husband in the waiting room when another one of the girls cleaning the room I was in said “ohhh this happens sometimes because she has asthma” and I said well I have asthma too, she left her inhaler in the room if she’s having an asthma attack she’s going to need it and someone should bring it to her.
Feeling terrible and not wanting to stay there any longer, I did not take advantage of the hot pools on the roof that you have access to or the sauna and I think I stayed in the hot tub for maybe 10 minutes. I just wanted to get out of there. This was supposed to be a relaxing getaway for my husband -celebrating both his birthday and Valentine’s Day. At this point, I just wanted to go to the hotel and pack up to go home.
When we were leaving to pay at the front -two other employees greeted me and I asked whether my massage therapist was ok. They said to not feel bad that this happens all the time and that their very own products often triggers this massage therapist’s asthma. I said so, your own products can give her an asthma attack, but she was certain it was my fault. They said that it had happened frequently and again said please do not feel bad about her leaving mid massage. Three employees reaffirmed this is a regular occurrence.
So I still had to pay half the massage -And felt guilty into tipping, which I just didn’t want to give her anything more than what they were making me pay. I really shouldn’t have had to have paid anything at all -she completely destroyed my entire day and the rest of our vacation.
I don’t understand why someone who is allergic to the products they work with every day chooses to stay in this type of employment and then subsequently make clients or customers feel absolutely terrible. I was made to feel like a leper for lack of a better explanation. The two stars is because the massage itself and the pool access is an amazing incentive - otherwise it would...

I had one of the worst customer service experiences in a very long time at this spa. After my massage, I broke out in a full-body reaction to the essential oils used—covered head to toe in hives. It was not only physically uncomfortable but also incredibly distressing, especially with a formal dinner scheduled just two hours later.
What made it worse was the complete lack of empathy from the manager, making it out to be my fault. There was no apology, no concern shown, and certainly no offer of a discount or compensation for the experience and inconvenience. I left feeling dismissed, frustrated, extremely sad, and incredibly uncomfortable.
A spa should be a place of care and attentiveness. Unfortunately, that was the opposite of what I received. I won’t be returning—and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who expects professionalism and...
Read moreWe spent the night at moose lodge and since the spa just recently opened due to covid, I was so happy to go for a couple of treatments. The girl at the reception which I think is the manager was very nice and helpful. She explained the new guildines and was very efficient, even calling the front desk to ask for a late check out so I could enjoy a facial. I had a pedicure and a facial with Elaina ( I hope I am spelling her name correctly). One of the best peds and facials I have had, she is a lovely girl and very pleasant and the massage with the facial was amazing. Thank you. The spa felt very safe, everyone was wearing a mask and Elaina also wore a face sheild during the facial. I also wore a mask and enjoyed the whole experience. Definitely...
