THE RUNDLE PATIO — Restaurant in Banff

The menu/food is so disappointing. This is one of the nicest patios in Banff, attached to a stunning prestige hotel that has a few different fancy upscale restaurants/bars inside to match the vibe. In my opinion, they completely ruined The Lookout Patio by incorporating the current menu they've had for the past couple years. Firstly, the menu doesn't appeal to a wide range of people (unless your strictly going out for Mexican food) and the food was not even good! I like Mexican food but this was poor quality and expensive for the small portions they gave (not to mention the terrible customer service and long wait times to get the food). The food/menu choice for this Patio is so bizarre to me!!! WHY would they pick this menu out of everything they could possibly pick??....I don't want it to be an expensive/fancy menu but I think they would do wayyy better if they offered a pub style menu with a wide variety of dishes, drinks and appies. If they want to keep it a Mexican Restaurant, then they need to change the menu and the chef and make their food authentic and high quality (delicious + rave reviews). At this point, if you want a drink on a nice patio, this is the place, as far as a nice dinner to enjoy...I would go...

I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. Our food was given to the wrong table next to us and I had overheard the customers being confused on why they got it. They were seated 20 minutes after us and had not even looked at a menu. After a while we let the server know that we didn't receive anything and after confirming with a few other girls around her, she came over with a quick order without explaining what had happened. I had confronted her briefly asking if she could verify if our bill was correct as there was mix up with the table next to us. She was extremely rude upon response and lied about the confusion and proceeded to ask me "what do you want me to do about it, we are busy", considering that half the tables were empty i wouldn't consider that busy. If she had been honest from the beginning then I wouldn't have felt compelled to write a review but it completely ruined the experience of dining there and completely regret spending the amount of money that I did. Plastic in my food, Bad service, Very overpriced. We came here yesterday for our honeymoon! My wife’s parents have visited several times and always mentioned this restaurant. It appears they’ve rebranded it for the worse. The food was a little below ordinary. Our server forgot our appetizer order and forgot our entree order— we waited about 35 minutes for the first round of food each time, and when she brought out items we hadn’t ordered, we faced the same wait. We watched a poor lady wait 30 minutes for her bill, walk up to staff, and receive no assistance. Our server accidentally charged us about $20 higher than our bill (with tip, our meal came to 85 and we were charged 114), but we let it go because we were so anxious to leave. To end things off, the $22 chip appetizer we ordered had plastic melted into it. We thought it was cheese. Nope, plastic. Pictures included.
