Surprise Corner Viewpoint is a remarkable gem that offers one of the most iconic views in the area. Perched high above the Bow River, it provides a breathtaking panorama of the stunning Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel framed by majestic mountains and lush forest. The vantage point is perfectly situated for capturing memorable photos and soaking in the natural beauty of the landscape. The short, easy walk to the viewpoint is well worth it, as it leads to an exceptional vantage point that truly lives up to its name. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or simply seeking a serene spot to appreciate nature, Surprise Corner Viewpoint delivers an unforgettable experience.

The Surprise Corner Viewpoint in Banff is an absolute gem! From this vantage point, you get breathtaking views of the snow-fed Rocky Mountains and the iconic Banff Springs Hotel. We visited in the afternoon, and the sight was nothing short of spectacular. The contrast of the rugged mountains with the historic hotel nestled among them creates a picture-perfect scene. It's a peaceful spot, ideal for taking in the natural beauty and snapping some incredible photos. If you're in Banff, don't miss out on this stunning viewpoint!

Incredible lookout with amazing view of the mountain Bowfall and the hotel. There was limited parking especially on a busy summer day, and the nicely done wooden deck lookout is on the other side of parking lot. The view is totally worth it. It wont take long to get few amazing memorable clicks. I have reviewed hoodo trail which will take 1-2 hours but this lookout wont even take 10 mins and its absolutely worth it. No washroom though and limited parking. Check out videos and images. Follow for more.

Loved this place. Very scenic. The view of the rumbling Bow Falls with Sulphur mountain at the back and the Fairmont Hotel is something extra ordinary. Parking is tight but with a little luck you can find something as cars are pulling in and out frequently. It's a look out point with some paved area and there are further stairs to go up even higher. There was no ramp so we weren't able to go all the way up with a stroller. Definitely a spot not to be missed in the city of Banff!

Well what a surprise this truly is! We didn’t even realise this was such an amazing spot for views over the Bow River and perfect views of the Fairmont Banff Springs, we’re taken here by our wedding planner just to get some pictures of ourselves enjoying the area before the big day, and we are so glad she did take us, it’s wonderful, this is a must-visit spot of Banff for anyone wanting to take in the stunning imagery and get some amazing pictures!
