🎥 love.from.steph 3-Day Winter Banff Itinerary 🏔️   (𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨)      Most people think of Banff as a summer destination but it’s actually one of my favourite national parks to visit in winter. I’ve been to Banff for winter twice now so here’s a suggested itinerary if you’re planning to visit in the next couple of months! I have a full guide over on my blog 📝 (link in bio or Google ‘love from Steph winter Banff’ and it should come up!)  Day 1: ❄️ Visit Two Jack Lake for sunrise ❄️ Go shopping on Banff Avenue ❄️ Check out the view at Surprise Corner ❄️Walk the Bow River Trail to see the frozen Bow Falls ❄️Watch sunset at Vermillion Lakes Day 2: ❄️ Go ice skating at Lake Louise ❄️ Snowshoe up to Fairview Lookout ❄️ Warm up with hot chocolates inside @fairmontcll ❄️ Explore the Icefields Parkway and see Peyto Lake Day 3: ❄️ Drive along the Bow Valley Parkway to see Castle Mountain ❄️ Book an ice walk tour to see frozen waterfalls at Johnston Canyon ❄️ Take the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain for sunset #banffnationalpark #discoveralberta #mybanff #amazingplacestosee #epictravelspots #travelbucketlist #winterinbanff

Surprise Corner Viewpoint is hands down one of the most spectacular scenic spots in Banff! The panoramic views from here are absolutely breathtaking, featuring the majestic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (often called the "Banff Castle") perched dramatically above the picturesque Bow River valley and ravine. The sight of this grand château-style hotel against the rugged Canadian Rockies backdrop is nothing short of magical. What makes this viewpoint even more remarkable is the layered scenery - you can see the Banff Gondola gracefully ascending Sulphur Mountain in the distance behind the castle, creating a perfect composition that captures multiple iconic Banff attractions in one frame. The contrast between the elegant architecture of the historic hotel and the raw natural beauty of the surrounding wilderness is truly captivating. This spot is ideal for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Whether you're here for sunrise, sunset, or any time of day, the views are consistently spectacular. It's easily accessible and offers ample space for taking photos and simply soaking in the scenery. While the views are incredible, please exercise extreme caution if you're tempted to venture closer to the ravine for a different angle. The area near the edge has loose gravel that can be very slippery, and there's a significant drop-off that could be extremely dangerous. Several visitors have had close calls here, so it's best to enjoy the amazing views from the designated safe viewing areas. Despite the need for caution, this viewpoint is an absolute must-see when visiting Banff. The memories and photos you'll take from here will last a lifetime.

Getting here is ready but there are only 8 parking spots. We went by here several times and there are always about 20 cars trying to park on this blind corner, it's a mess and very dangerous so please tell the tourists to park legally and do not let them block traffic or stop on the road way. The view is only OK. You can see the Fairmont, the mountain and if you walk up the road you can see some of the falls. The road drops off here quickly so be careful walking, 1 rock that move could put you over the side with a 100 meter drop into the icy waters below. Unless you like that kind of adventure.

There is no repelling or climbing here but great place to try if you can get parking.

The view point is across the street. There are no seats and no wash rooms. You have to climb several steps and a short incline.

Give this review a like 👍♥️.

Let us know if you get a parking spot, see tourists getting in accidents for being morons. Our get some...

Surprise Corner Viewpoint is a remarkable gem that offers one of the most iconic views in the area. Perched high above the Bow River, it provides a breathtaking panorama of the stunning Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel framed by majestic mountains and lush forest. The vantage point is perfectly situated for capturing memorable photos and soaking in the natural beauty of the landscape. The short, easy walk to the viewpoint is well worth it, as it leads to an exceptional vantage point that truly lives up to its name.
