My husband and I went for lunch around 11:30 am today to try our first experience at the much anticipated Chick-fil-A! My husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, waffle fries, Chick-fil-A sauce and a cookies and cream milkshake. I ordered the spicy chicken nuggets, waffle fries, Polynesian sauce (similar to a sweet and sour) and a strawberry milkshake. While we were enjoying our food, a staff member came around the dining room and offered us free chicken nuggets. The food was amazing, fresh and well presented! The chicken is so juicy, moist and tasty. You can tell itās real chicken unlike some other fast food restaurants where you tend to question the chicken?! The waffle fries are tasty and a nice change to regular cut fries. They are very generous with the amount of sauce packets they supply with your food, which is great for sauce dippers like us. No need to ask for extras. The Chick-fil-A sauce is so good as a spread on your sandwich or for dipping your chicken tenders and waffle fries. The milkshakes were thick and delicious and served with whipped cream and a cherry on top and a compostable straw. (Thank you Chick-fil-A for not using plastic straws ;) Prices were comparable to other fast food joints. Staff is extremely friendly, attentive and courteous. The staff is constantly going around asking customers if they are in need of extra napkins, sauce packets etc while maintaining the order and cleanliness of the restaurant. Iāve seen very long lineups a few times while attempting to go to Chick-fil-A the past 2 weeks since theyāve opened. As theyāve just opened up, itās understandable that you may encounter long wait times, errors with your order, confusion among staff etc. Patrons seem to be patient and understanding of these issues. We were able to walk in and order within a matter of minutes given our early arrival for lunch. They gave us our receipt and a table marker and was told a staff member would bring our food out shortly. Our food did indeed arrive within minutes. The restaurant and bathrooms are spotless given that itās a brand new fresh spot and the staff are constantly keeping it clean. My husband and I loved the communal white table which is handmade from reclaimed wood with a unique soda bottle chandelier hanging on top.
The only feedback I wish to share is in regards to the waste receptacles. I noticed that all of it goes in the same bin. Given that you use paper, cardboard, plastic and compostable products. It would be great to see receptacles that separate the recyclables from the compostable and regular trash.
Side note: My daughter went in on Monday night around 9:00 pm for a takeout order. Lineup was at the door which was surprising for 9:00 pm. All in all I would say she was still in and out within 20 minutes. She ordered a large waffle fry and a vanilla milkshake. The vanilla shake was delicious and we dare say the best vanilla shake weāve had. Itās wasnāt overly sweet and tasted like they use real vanilla bean ice cream.
Amazing job Chick-fil-A Barrie team! Keep up the amazing work, amazing customer service and serving fresh delicious food!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy personal first time to any Chick-Fil-A & I have to say I have never experienced better customer service ANYWHERE in either Southern Ontario, or Victoria BC - people could take lessons from these folks at North Barrie Chick-Fil-A! And we interacted with at least 5 different employees during our visit (dine-in followed by drive-through for a milkshake to take away). & Despite the length of the line in the drive-through, it was actually quite fast! We were able to pay (via debit/credit) at the ordering station, saves time, & within about 5-7 minutes we were driving away with our milkshakes. Now the Food: OHhhhh! Yum! I got the spicy deluxe chicken sandwich, wasn't to hot (for me) but full of flavor, & made my nose runny as good spices should. The waffle fries were a great size, & delicious, not greasy at all, just the right amount of salt & they went perfect with their house sauce! And I toped it with their original Sweet Tea, NOT to ever be mistaken for ice tea because its made fresh & using REAL TEA! Delicious. So good I got sauce all over my hands & had use the restroom to wash my hands after - WOW, bathroom was HUGE, I think there were 3, all single toilets, & each were large enough for a wheelchair or several & people to assist if a person needed, & CLEAN! I don't like using public restrooms in general but I I'm not worried of catching anything in these ones. My Hubby got the Chick-Fil-A nuggets, crispy, although they have grilled options for all their chicken items including nuggets...& its all cut from real chicken breast not cut, minced, & mashed together, but actual chunks of chicken! Now he's been down to the states & even lived there for 6 months, so he's been before & he said he thinks the Canadian's might have stepped it up a bit on the American's!
Overall, as a fast food restaurant Chick-Fil-A Barrie North just raised the bar for me, It is now my Number ONE! Honestly, if I had the money, I'd have left a $100 tip, cause they all deserve it. Five stars are honestly not enough!
FYI, they're extending their drive-through to two lanes - its not a window, its a DOOR so they can come out to the second lane! Whoever thought of that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAh, Chick-fil-A, the fast-food joint that leaves your taste buds in a moral dilemma! As you navigate the labyrinthine drive-thru, inhaling the sweet scent of oversized pickup trucks, the official vehicle of Barrie, you might wonder if this chicken quest is worth it. Spoiler alert: it totally is!
Once you sink your teeth into their juicy, flavour-packed chicken sandwich, it's like Popeyes never even existed. It's not just a chicken sandwich; it's a flavour symphony so epic, it could convince Popeyes to consider a career change into elevator music.
The waffle fries? Oh, they'll make you ponder why other fast-food joints haven't embraced this crispy delight as a menu staple. They are the Clark Kent of fast-food sides, quietly saving your taste buds from the blandness of ordinary fries.
And the Chick-fil-A sauce? It's the wingman of condiments, whispering sweet promises of flavour in your ear until you're sneaking fries and chicken tenders like they're forbidden love letters.
Sure, you'll probably only experience Chick-fil-A through the drive-thru, just like 96.7% of Barrieās population. Those smiling staff members directing traffic through the automotive maze might make you feel like you've made friends for life. But let's face it, they're just counting down the minutes until their minimum-wage shift ends.
In the end, Chick-fil-A is worth the visit. Don't set your expectations too high; after all, dining in a proper restaurant will always outclass fast food. But if you find yourself craving an outstanding chicken sandwich and a side of pickup truck fumes, dare to conquer the drive-thru maze and enjoy the guilty pleasure that is Chick-fil-A!
