I have been shopping at Freshco more than once a week for years. In all that time I have never experienced a staff member be so unpleasant, harsh and ill-mannered. Today will be my last trip into the Bayfield store as I was rudely accosted by a man running the self check out , a person of which I'd had never even seen before. This man watched me standing there waiting for my turn as the store was packed, chaotic and very disorganized . Once I got to the cash out machine this man unexpectedly came up behind me and barks in my ear " you can't use this machine you have too much stuff". His tone was really stern and he scared my child, startling me as well.
As a frequent shopper in this establishment, curious I said to this person "I cash out here like this every single week and have never been refused access before." (Like I mentioned I had my 9 year old daughter with me who I have been recently teaching to scan goods and groceries by using the self check out as this seems to be the new normal and way of our world now adays).
This man rudely says I don't care what you're doing or what you're used to can't you read, as he points to a sign up over my head .. "you cant use these machines now move". This is clearly a new policy at Freshco and I explained to him that this was the first time I had been refused the right to self check out and that I hadn't noticed the sign. He told me he didn't care and I needed to get out of the way. At this point he was so close to me I literally felt him spit while he talked. He proceeded to try and intimidate me even more by continuing to walk so close to me I had to actually move back to keep him from stepping on my toes. This was very upsetting and overwhelming as I felt bullied by this person for no good friggin reason.
So to the man who felt it necessary to embarrass, intimidate and disrespect a mother and her young child, nice job, not a good look Freshco. Just one more lesson for my daughter to learn that not everybody knows or practices respect and that we need to watch out for those who have no interest in understanding. Remember folks in a world full of hate, discrimination and rising expenses ... It is always free to be kind.
So thanks once again to this person. You just lost your store a good thousand...
Read moreI am disgusted at the service provided by this location. I went in on Sunday August 9th to buy coffee that was on sale in the flyer. They had run out of the item, so I asked for a raincheck from the boy at the cash register and had to wait while they double checked that the item was out of stock. He went and talked to his supervisor and the supervisor disappeared into the office with 2 way glass for what seemed to be an eternity. I told the cashier we needed 2 rainchecks because my sister was there as well, and he says no problem. Well of course after waiting so long the supervisor (boy) appears with 1 raincheck. So has to go back while we wait again. Fine we got our rainchecks. That isn't even the kicker. I try to use the raincheck later at another Freshco and they tell me that they don't accept rainchecks from other Freshco's. So I message head office and they say that the raincheck can be used at all stores and they will look into it. Head office responds to me that it is basically a fake raincheck and the Barrie store says they don't use those kind of rainchecks! Why on earth is the Barrie store using fake rainchecks? And if they think it's me, why would I make such an ordeal to possibly create a fake raincheck for something that everyone was entitled to in the flyer... For what a measly 10% off when they are out of stock. Not to mention they basically have children as supervisors which is most likely the problem. This is appalling customer service. Beware if you need to ever get a raincheck from this location or company!! Customer service has really taken...
Read morePrice is ok but the employee I met today and what happened was terrible. The ribs has put a sale sign $5 original price $8.99, I checked out and was charged $8.99, so I went to the cashier again. This cashier "Michele" was talking to her colleague so I was waiting there for 20 seconds and she still ignored me. Finally I said excuse me and she turn around say, what? .. like I'm disturbing her from talking? I said, are you open? She said ya.... Attitude was bad, so I told her what happened and she called for a price check, gave me a refund, when I was about to leave the meat department person ran back say the pack I picked up had a different type of BBQ sauce, but it was not specific on their tag at all!! Most of all it's her attitude that makes me very upset with this store, some employees here are polite. Also their shopping drives me crazy , a lot of time the quarter get stuck in the cart and I have to either spend 5 minutes pulling it out or ask another staff to do it.
