Firehouse Subs Barrie Park Place — Restaurant in Barrie

I’m sure this place would be good if it weren’t for the incredibly terrible service they had. We were in quite a hurry to get our food and leave, and thought this would be a good option. Ordered 4 subs, one of them was the pizza sub and we asked them to remove the meatballs. For some reason, they were exceptionally difficult about not putting meatballs on the sub. They asked us multiple times if we wanted to have them placed a certain way or off to the side, and I understand they want to give the customer what they ordered but I don’t see how they couldn’t fulfill our request of not putting one of the toppings. Eventually, we gave up and they just put them on the side. After waiting for a long time for our subs to be ready, we discovered that they had processed our order twice and didn’t notice until they had all 8 subs ready. Thankfully they refunded us, but they didn’t label any of the subs which was a little inconvenient since we were nearly late to our plans I will say the sandwiches were great and they had nice, clean seating, so if you have enough patience then I wouldn’t be against you going. But I think the service absolutely needs...

Not a great first impression. Ordered online for pickup and arrived 3 minutes late of the pickup time. Ended up waiting another half hour ontop of that. (Rip my lunch hour) ok, stuff happens no prob. Then I witness them give another customer the wrong sub. (They were eating in so it was not wraped up) instead of throwing out the sub as the customer had touched it, they just gave it to the other guy. Not ok. The couple who had received the wrong sub then spoke up for him and asked for there money back on their order as they didn't wat to eat there anymore (just as there subs were ready, but they had not eaten anything). I got to watch them argue with the staff for the next 20 minutes until my order was ready. During that time no other people were served. THEN when I got back to check the subs instead of 2 larges we got 2 mediums and smaller parts of the order was wrong. And to top this dictionary of a review off, the "contact us" and "support" tabs on the website don't work so we can't even leave a complaint or get a refund for the massive order mess ups.

10/10 would...

So, the food is good (it's Firehouse) and the atmosphere is reasonable and clean for what you'd expect of a quick food spot.

It is the service which will ensure that I do not return to this location. Another place where you feel like YOU are the inconvenience to the staff for daring to enter the establishment to purchase what is being sold.

You know the feeling. The short, flat dialogue. The lack of any kind of greeting beyond "name?". The annoyance to your questions so now YOU have to think like the employee and try to navigate their jobs for them b/c they have exactly zero interest in doing so.

It was not busy either. I was the only person to be in line at that time and it was mid day on a Saturday. Anyway, this is not an unfamiliar experience in modern customer service, we've all had a taste of it. It's just not something we need to put up with and so I won't come back to this location.
