I have had a few bad experiences at this location in brampton on steeles. The dining area is supposed to be open at 6am. This morning when i went, the doors were locked at 6:40 am. Inside had two employees. A cashier and a supervisor. How is this acceptable of a business when you have certain hours for dining ? This isnt th first time this has happened. Im a regular customer here as i go to the gym daily. Usually go to eat at a&w after. A few times either employees are sitting there eatting breakfast or just in the back have have the front door locked after 6am. The other issue I had today as with a male employee who overcharged me for my food. A&w has a breakfast special for 6.99. I also got pancakes which is a usual order. When i explained to him he overcharged me, he tried to make excuses about sometimes price is higher. I had explained to him i was here yesterday morning and it was less than the total he charged me. How is that possible. He continued to make excuses then finally asked the othr employee(supervisor) to correct it. I asked the supervisor why he is overcharging me as she was the one who served me yesterday. She made excuses for him. While i was speaking to her, the male employee started talking to her in another language which i found to be very disrespectful. I called him out on that and he just started smiling and laughing. I then asked the supervisor if she thought it was right and ok for what he did. I asked if its ok to laugh and smile about a matter of overcharging me. She had no answer for me. I then proceeded to ask for the phone number of the manager. She wouldnt give it to me. Instead she advised me that the manger would be at the location sometime in the morning. This is not acceptable business. There was also another time i went in the morning, and with those same two employees plus another in the kitchen took 30 minutes to make my order. No other customers. Just me. It doesnt take half an hour to cook an egg, bacon, hashbrown and pankcakes. If anyone from a higher division of A&w reads this, please investigate this location, the employees are taking advantage of the store by not having the dining area open on time. This is essentially stealing time from the company which equates to a loss of customers and business. From reading other reviews, there seems to be more then a few of the same complaints about this location. Late to open doors/take drive in orders, take extremely long to make food when its not busy, poor attitude towards customers, wrong toppings put on food. This location needs proper training for the employees. I would give zero stars for service but google wont allow that. The food is decent when actually made properly. The location is clean and has a nice...
Read moreI've had two bad experiences with this particular restaurant in the last couple of weeks.
The first, I ordered a full breakfast, the one with eggs and tomatoes and hashbrowns, I can't recall the menu name. But first, I had to wait at the counter for two or three minutes, as the only customer in the store. I had to loudly yell "HELLO???" before anyone came out to take my order, or even acknowledged me.
When that order came, it was without cutlery. After I asked for cutlery, an employee came out and brought it, then promptly disappeared. The issue? There was no fork. Am I supposed to eat fried eggs with my damn hands? I had no way to eat it, and nobody was around for me to even ask for it. And I wasn't going to go loudly yelling for some help a second time. I walked out without eating that breakfast.
The second time, a few days ago, again, I was the only customer. One employee was filling the walk-in freezer with a recent delivery, completely ignoring me, even AFTER I made my presence known. Okay, she's busy, maybe a new hire, nervous, whatever, I'm a pretty patient and understanding person.
Then out walk what I assume was a manager or supervisor, with a clipboard, counting something or other. Again I make my presence known, and AGAIN I am ignored. I walked out without ordering anything and went to the Starbucks across the parking lot.
I'd love to give the food a better rating, because A&W genuinely has good food, but on both occasions, I was either unable to eat it, or unable to order it.
I have seldom in my life experienced worse customer service. Needless to say, I won't be...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to A&W, I was greeted by Shubhanshi, an exceptional cashier whose genuine warmth and efficiency set the tone for an outstanding dining experience. From the moment I approached the counter, her helpful nature shone through: she patiently answered my questions about the menu, offered insightful recommendations, and even shared tips on the most popular seasonal specials. Her lively personality created an inviting atmosphere that made the entire ordering process a breeze, and her attention to detail ensured my order was accurate and ready within minutes.
One of the highlights of my visit was trying the Beyond Meat burger, a plant-based masterpiece that surpassed all expectations. The patty boasted a perfectly grilled exterior with a juicy, flavorful interior, complemented by crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a tangy sauce that tied all the elements together beautifully. Every bite was satisfying and proved that plant-based alternatives can be just as delightful as traditional offerings.
The restaurant’s clean, modern décor and comfortable seating area further enhanced my experience, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a quick meal. Overall, my time at A&W was nothing short of fantastic. Shubhanshi’s outstanding customer service, combined with the incredible taste of the Beyond Meat burger, made this visit one I won’t soon forget. I highly recommend stopping by for excellent food and...
