In the 905, it's quite hard to find quality Chinese food. However, my visit to Green Bites Dumplings and Tea Bar really surprised me because I could find a great place for authentic Chinese flair in my hometown! Entry to the restaurant presented a beautifully decorated space which emphasized Asian decor. The ceilings were decorated with lantern-like lights, and the walls were expertly splashed with Asian pottery and pictures. The tables and chairs were also very clean and had soy sauces, hot sauces and chopsticks ready for your dining needs. It was a very polished space, and has been making its mark in Brampton for roughly 4 months. When we had first arrived there were only two other parties that were there, however it got busier later into the evening. The owner was extremely kind - he led us to our tables and we were able to sample from the menu some of his most famous selections. We started off with the Iron Buddha Tea, which had been specially imported straight from Beijing. It was served in a pristine tea pot with two small tea cups. The design of the teacup itself was special because it was designed in a way that the heat from the tea would not be a nuisance to our fingers when we lift our glasses. It was a very nice place to enjoy this special tea.The size of the teapot actually made me question whether it was enough for two people (I had my guest with me on this excursion) however it was surprisingly the perfect amount! While we were sipping on our tea, our main courses have also come out. One of them being the Shanghai Noodles with Soy Chicken. This set of noodles were served hot and stir fried fresh. The soy chicken was actually more of a deep fried variety, which was placed on top of the noodles. I think that the experience with the noodles would have been greater has the chicken been tossed together with the noodles - just so it could absorb the flavours that were emitting from the noodles. It was however, an enjoyable dish. We also received two types of dumplings - one was Steamed Beef Dumplings and the other was Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. Generally, I prefer to eat the pan fried variety, and my opinion has not changed! The pan fried pork dumplings were very tasty and were great with the dark vinegar that came with it. I was also very content with the steamed beef dumplings - I don't usually eat dumplings steamed, but after going to Green Bites, perhaps I'll be adding this style of dumpling to my menu choices in the future! Overall, the value of the service and quality of the food at Green Bites was a huge find for me, considering the fact that Brampton is a growing area for the food scene. I would highly recommend taking a visit if you're in the area!

WHAT TO TRY?! Their hand-made dumplings (steamed and pan fried) and the crispy chicken wings are worth a try. Other fan favourites include the crispy squid, sweet and sour chicken and general tao's chicken. Their restaurant also specializes in organic loose leaf tea, so I suggest ordering a pot to go with your meal as well! One of my favorite parts of this restaurant are the handmade dumplings. You can have them pan-fried or steamed and even come in a wrap that's mixed with veggies. That means the wrap will be green if it's spinach and red if it's beets. The filling doesn't have to JUST be pork! They have it in chicken, vegetable, shrimp-pork and shrimp-veggie on top of the pork option! Each bite was juicy and not dry at all. Could use more soup in the dumplings, but overall I was happy the dumplings did not taste dry inside the wrap. The crispy chicken wings had a bit of a kick to them but it wasn't too spicy. If you can't handle the spice, you can ask to see if they will remove the peppers when they're seasoning the fried chicken. Crunchy yet juicy was what I got when I took a bite out of these wings. The interior of this restaurant is really pretty and cozy. Walls are decorated with history of how dumplings came to be and rolling pins. The service was quick and efficient and the place was super clean. I also like the fact that they cater to vegetarians at this restaurant. You not only will find the regular tofu and vegetable dishes, but they have soy chicken options too! That means vegetarians don't need to just eat "vegetables"! Try the soy chicken for a vegetarian option! They also have alot of different loose leaf teas to choose from. We picked the traditional spring green tea and we thought it was a good tea. The teas are served in one tea pot with one tea cup only. If you want additional tea cups, they're $1 each. And if you like their teas, you can also buy a bigger package to enjoy at home! LAST TIP?! Their lunch combos are really inexpensive at $8.95 for a combo of chicken dish with vegetables and steamed rice! So you might want to come during lunch time if you're thinking of a restaurant to try at lunchtime. Also, they offer community classes that teaches you how to make the dumplings. So if you're ever curious about how to make dumplings, you might want to check out their website and sign up for a class!

Tried Green Bite after a friend recommended it, and we had a great early dinner here with family. We shared Pan Fried Pork Dumplings, Steamed Chicken Dumplings, Mongolian Beef, Shanghai Noodle with Chicken, and Chicken Wings. Service was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. The staff were friendly, responsive, and knew how to read the room. I also really appreciated how well they made use of the space. A lot of places this size end up feeling like takeout joints with tables, but this one was cozy and thoughtfully put together from top to bottom. Now onto the food. Overall, everything was good, but the wings were easily the standout. Perfectly fried, seasoned with just the right amount of spice and heat, and absolutely addictive. If you’re coming here, ordering the wings isn’t optional. They’re a must. Other dishes, like the noodles and Mongolian beef, were a bit on the mild side for my taste. Maybe I’m just used to something with more kick, but they leaned a bit safe. Not bad at all, just felt like there was room to push flavor further, especially after tasting how well they nailed the wings. Dumplings were hearty and filling. I personally prefer a thinner wrapper, but these had a wholesome, satisfying quality that still worked. If the area is the reason they’re keeping things mild, I get it. But I’d love to see what they could do in a more adventurous food neighborhood. Either way, it’s a solid spot and I’d be happy to come back if I’m nearby.

Great cozy atmosphere and tasty Chinese food. Reminded my wife of the local restaurants in Vancouver. Would recommend the wings and dumplings as starters to share. Great addition to Brampton.

2025-06-06_Decided on a light order from Green Bites. Ordered the Crispy Tofu and an order of plain rice. Still THE BEST CRISPY TOFU EVER!!!. So glad this restaurant is part of the Brampton food scene.

2022-11-25_Have been ordering our Friday dinners from Green Bites lately and rediscovered the pan-fried dumplings. We still order our regular staples of basil chicken and crispy tofu. Just on point with the seasoning and freshness. Now we sometimes add the pork pan fried dumplings with their savoury dipping sauce to the order. OMG!! So full of flavour and filling. The portion serving is substantial. Highly recommend ordering some take out or dining in for some awesome food. The staff are very friendly and the service is still too notch.

2021-05-07_So Green Bites has officially become our Friday-night-after-a-hard-work-week meal. We are really glad that they did not close down during the past year because of Covid. Crispy chicken wings, crispy tofu and basil chicken. We have ordered other dishes and they are just as tasty. However, I have yet to taste crispy tofu the way Green Bites does it. Cannot wait when we can finally get to eat at the restaurant again. In the meantime, I still highly recommend trying it out and make sure to order some crispy tofu.

2020-07-17_This is my COVID 19 review. End of work week and my wife and I just wanted GOOD TAKE-OUT. Only choice - Green Bites. Ordered Crispy Tofu (STILL BEST TOFU EVER), Spicy Crispy Wings, Basil Beef and rice. Absolutely amazing. The food is always peppered with fresh slaw cabbage and thin slices of jalapeño and the seasoning for the food was on point. We return again and again. Support the great restaurant and keep it going. The food and service are worth it.

2019-01-06_Second visit to Green Bites. Indulged in the salt and pepper wings. Ordered the Crispy Tofu (BEST TOFU EVER) and the Cashew Chicken to share with my wife. The food continues to blow us away. Simple but flavourful and clean-tasting, the components of each dish comes through, especially the vegetables. The Cashew Chicken had the right amount sauce. The Crispy Tofu bites went well with some.of the chili sauce at the table. This was all chased down with Jasmine tea for two. Cannot wait for our next meal.

2019-02-22_Just finished our sixth visit for dinner at Green Bites and the second one in less than seven days. The food is simply tasty and original. My wife and I have our favourites already. The Crispy Tofu ranks NUMBER ONE and a must every time we go. The Green Salad with Sesame Dressing is one of the tastiest plate of greens I have ever had. And we typically have to resist ordering those amazing wings. They are crispy and light. It is quickly becoming our favourite weekly restaurant. And the service is friendly and efficient.

2019-04-02_It is official. Green Bites is our go-to-once-a-week local establishment. Green salad with sesame dressing, crispy tofu and 1/2 dozen crispy wings. The rest of the menu that we have tried just as tasty but we are addicted to those three items. Worth the trip.

2019-06-20_ We had gone there last couple of times over the past month. The atmosphere is still cozy and the service is still excellent. However, what happened to the awesome seasoning that accompanied the Crispy Tofu and Crispy Wings. It was the first thing that hit our taste buds and made the tofu and wings especially savoury, with that hit of salt, pepper and five spice. We were told they had a new chef but I hope that they bring back that SPICE. We still recommend coming to eat here. Their other dishes are...

I don't usually travel this far west but it's awesome to see an authentic Chinese restaurant serving delicious food and cuisine to the people of Brampton. GreenBites Dumpling and Tea Bar is a nice restaurant to enjoy some delicious dumplings, food and sip on delicious brewed tea! We came here with a group of friends and were hungry to eat for sure! I really love the décor in here as you can see these beautiful tea sets displayed in the restaurant. It's not a huge restaurant which is nice because it brings about that homey feeling for sure! We had a variety of dishes so we were definitely in for a treat.

We ordered the following dishes to try: crispy chicken wings, hot and sour soup, Kung Pao Chicken Lunch combo, Honey Sesame Chicken, Crispy Fish, Lemon Soy Chicken and of course dumplings. The dumplings were spinach and beet veggie wrap dumplings as well as the regular Pan-Fried and Steamed Dumplings. It was literally quite the feast and so many options for dumplings.

My highlight of this lunch were definitely the crispy chicken wings. You are probably thinking why a dumplings restaurant serves these crispy chicken wings but damn were they ever delicious!! Seasoned with their own secret seasoning, these wings were definitely to die for and one cannot stop at just one basket. I wanted to keep eating and eating as it was just that good!! The dumplings here have some nice colours and aesthetically looked nice but they also tasted great. My favorites were definitely the pan-fried dumplings. Nicely fried and prepared, these dumplings were exploding with flavours and juices once you took a bite of them. We couldn't stop at just a few dumpling dishes as we wanted more!

The hot and sour soup was nice- not too spicy but had some nice heat and spices to it. The crispy fish was salty but it was nice to eat some salty and crispy with the meal. The lemon soy chicken had an interesting taste to being a vegan dish. Nice flavours and seasoning with the lemon zesty kind of sauce! The honey sesame chicken was delicious and the kung pao chicken had some nice flavours to it.

Throughout our meal, it's nice to sit down to sip on some nice refreshing tea. We tried a variety of different teas including the High Mountain Oolong Tea, Dragon Well Green Tea & Jasmine Herbal Tea. By a mile, hands down my favorite tea was the Oolong Tea. One sip and it definitely got me hooked on it. The nice aromas as you smell to the tip and the taste of the tea leaves on your tongue really made an impression on me that this was a very nice brewed tea. Definitely a nice way to cleanse some of the fatty oils and salt from a delicious feast for sure!!

Overall a wonderful meal by an amazing chef and the service and hospitality by the staff here were amazing! Quite the gem located in Brampton! I can't wait to return soon to try more of their delicious dishes. You might say I'm already eyeing their delicious crispy chicken wings...
