Firehouse Subs 410 at Steeles - Brampton — Restaurant in Brampton

This is my second visit to Firehouse, but first time at this location, for lunch and dining in on Feb 15th. I think the vent was broken as the sheer amount of smoke in the air from the frying was extremely apparent the minute you opened the door.

For some time now I have been looking for something to replace the toasty-ness of Quiznos since they have become almost extinct due to their declining food quality and extremely poor sense of customer service. Fireshouse has not only filled that void they seemed to have either done a good amount of research as to the competition and laid out a strong market strategy or simply lucked out.... I digress.

Here are the pros of this location during lunch:

Extremely friendly staff Dining room was clean. Food was prepared in a reasonable time -They packed on the toppings and didn't seem to be stingy The food was delivered to the table and was warm and toasty

Here were the cons of this location:

Limes beside the beverage dispenser in the server yourself station look like they have been left out and forgotten for quite some time. There is only one veggie sub on the menu and they charge extra for mushrooms. I think given that this is a veggie sub and the margin is higher you would qualify certain add on's as included as there isnt a protein substitute. -There was a lot of smoke in the air - to the point where I had to inhale the sandwich as I felt that I couldn't breath

My overall comments are - good food, friendly staff, a little sloppy when you come to biting down but I think its ok. You may want to think about another veggie option and doing something about the ventilation.

To corporate. You are way too expensive to make this a regular thing. Almost $14.00 for a medium veggie sandwich combo. That is excessive for a lunch expense. I encourage you revisit this otherwise you may find that your patronage may view this more of a monthly treat vs a ritual. As a note if you are going to respond with a statement citing quality of ingredients, I would caution you as lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and other vegitables havent seen a price increase in years, it is simply a margin play.

Solid 3.5 to 4 stars. I would go...

EDIT: so today my husband and I went back to fire house we ordered the same items as the last time we were there and it was pleasantly surprising that everything that we ordered was absolutely fantastic. Now if they can keep that up, will be sure to continue going to fire house. Brampton ..the weekend crew was pleasant and quite wonderful to deal with. They should have more of that all the time good job stepping it up. And for this reason, I have changed my review from a one star to a five star. Job well done ! **They knowingly sell food that is not up-to standards, cream of broccoli soup is pure liquid nothing cream about it and freezing cold, this is the worst firehouse sub , and I have been to many … Edit: after posting my review and calling the store, I did have someone reach out to me , they clearly cared enough to check the situation and discovered that I was completely correct, and has insured me that the problem will be resolved for that alone. I am changing my review from a one star , after I have been to the store again, and seen that the food has been brought up to standards, then I will give a new review … and we will see if I can get that up to a five star however, I am extremely pleased that someone did reach out to me to correct the situation. Edit: May 4,2024 I’ve changed my rating again based on today’s service and food and how dirty the store was… We went in today to have some dinner , every table dirty We asked for dine in we were given our subs in takeout containers then I got asked if I’d like a basket …really… My husband asked for whole wheat bread ,he got white… they had a few walk in’s at the time we got our food so my husband said he didn’t want to wait too get another sub made up so he ate the one he was given . You know when you order the same item because you know that is the item you like best and when somebody gives it to you and it’s not right, that was my sandwich. It wasn’t the right amount of meat, the right amount of sauce so once again firehouse subs, you need to step it up again. 👎👎👎👎👎...

My Sister-in-law, and my husband wanted to surprise me, ... With my Fav Sub Sandwich 😁 So, to my surprise, they brought me a Chicken 🐔 🍗 Sub Sandwich, *From: Firehouse Subs.

Being that it was a surprise, 🤩 (for me), from my husband and my sister-in-law, of course 😍 it was a nice surprise, ... Until I took a bite, waiting for that "burst of flavour," and the tender white meat, with a signature sauce. I 💭 thought, 🤔 just for a moment that my taste buds were off!!?

Unfortunately, my experience was not a pleasant one. It kinda tasted like "I BIT INTO A (what was supposed to be A *FRESH, *NOT TOASTED *SUB SANDWICH, ON *RYE BREAD)!!! But *INSTEAD, it was almost like "I was CHEWING "A THICK SAWDUST SUB, WITH DRIED OUT CHICKEN, ON A STALE BUN!!!" The chicken TASTED AWEFULL AND VERY DRIED OUT!!

My 2 FAMILY Members, WHO I LOVE DEARLY, GOT TO ENJOY THEIR SUB'S ... THOROUGHLY!!!!! Which I am very happy about. 😊❤️👌 They ordered MEATBALL SUBS. TOASTED, ON RYE BREAD.

I THOROUGHLY BELIEVE, THAT THE PERSON/Employee that prepared my Sub, had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA, how to take an ORDER, OR HOW TO TELL IF THE CHICKEN 🐔 Was Off, Or Too Dry, Or even the ability to apologize, for not taking the correct order, 😞 or, how to prevent the chicken from becoming NOT EDIBLE.

LONG STORY SHORT, I AM NOT GOING TO BLAME THE RESTAURANT, because THE SUBS are actually REALLY GOOD AT THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION!!! I know this because since then I've eaten their SUBS 😁👌🥰 WITHOUT ANY MISHAPS!!! 🥰 🍗💜😁🌟❤️ "AND, THEIR SUBS ARE DELICIOUS 😋 AND MOUTHWATERING EVERY TIME!!!!!!"

The service was good, and the staff were friendly. 😊 I can't rate them on the atmosphere, because we ate our subs at home. 🤔🚒🔥

FOOD FOR THOUGHT, the person that prepared my CHICKEN 🐔 SUB, SHOULDN'T BE WORKING WITH FOOD!!!!¡
