Went here after seeing some influencers share their experiences on ig. As a culinary school grad and former chef myself the food on the menu is fairly simple food to make so I didnt expect too many flaws. I also didnt walk in with major expectations either. Just a quick late night bite.
Let me start by saying that as we were standing to the left side after making our order i had a look into the kitchen from the door on the left and i just happen to see one of the workers drinking water with her hand on the faucet and drinking the water out of her hand which is definitely something you DONT do in a professional kitchen. There was a lady standing to my right before that happened waiting to order but there was nobody at the register to take the order. It wasnt too long until I believe the owner walked in thru the front door and he asked if me and the lady had ordered yet. I told him i already ordered so he took the ladys order and as he was taking the order i saw the employee drinking the water. He then walked into the door and he also saw the worker drinking directly from the faucet. I believe he told her to stop. But i dont know what happened after that. So that wasnt too great to see but i dont blame the owner being at fault at all because its soo hard now a days to find professional employees and people who have any common sense that if u want to drink some water its very simple… grab a glass and drink it from there. Not directly from the faucet. 👎🏼
Anyways something good was the chicken tenders. The tenders were great. A bit overpriced but out of my whole order that was the only good thing about my experience. They weren’t dry they were moist, crispy and spicy. The bread given tho was just plain white bread not toasted at all. So the soggy white bread slices were just kind of unappetizing. Not to mention that in the instagram videos the bread was toasted nicely. So idk why my order was like that.
I also ordered a lamb slider and a beef slider with double patties which i paid extra for. When i opened up the order there was only one patty in both sliders and only one side of each patty looked cooked properly. Smash burgers are supposed to have crispy brown seared sides to the patty but mine looked like they were only cooked on one side of the patty. So that was also very unappetizing because one side of the patty was brown and properly cooked and the other side looked like it didnt even touch the flattop grill at all. It didnt seem like the patty was flipped when cooking. As a place that is supposed be known for their sliders this was definitely a disappointment.
The fries were fine. Nothing you cant get anywhere else. The mac n cheese was too salty and again nothing you cant get anywhere else. Kinda tasted like kraft dinner if im being completely honest. There was no real cheese flavour.
Now i dont write reviews on restaurants because im not a picky eater but i felt like with all the influencer promotion this place is getting i had to speak on my experience. I also didnt finish the meal and me and my sister had to throw more than half the food away because it wasn’t appetizing to us. Now again.. im just speaking on my personal experience so im sure not everybody has had this experience, but i did. It was disappointing and i wont be going back.
As you can see in the pictures the patty looked nice and brown from one side and on the other side it was just grey and looked like boiled meat (i know the patty was cooked tho but what im trying to say is it didn’t look like it was flipped so the other side was not nice and brown). Theres also a picture of the plain white bread aswell. Which was unappetizing. They gave 2 of those slices with the tenders. The tender was great tho. It was crispy and moist which ment that it was properly cooked.
Spent just over $50 too which was a...
Read moreSo OK so coming to this slider shop I was expecting to get Dave’s hot chicken level, quality sliders and don’t get me wrong. This place is very good at making sliders, not only chicken but also beef too.
The quality level and combination of ingredients were close to Dave’s but not at the same level. The issues I had with some of the options were that I had ordered spicy fries, and for some reason there was honey on it, which totally threw me off, and I wish they had told me that there were gonna be that sweet even though they’re spicy fries.
My next issue, which was the biggest was the mac & cheese. It looked really appealing, but when you take your first bite, it is just so watery and it had no flavour at all. I don’t know what they did, but I just literally tasted like kraft mac & cheese. And I told them to also that they need to fix their mac & cheese because if I’m paying that sort of money for mac & cheese, it should be close to what they have at Dave’s or something in their own category but better than craft and dinner level.
Also, the place self is designed very well and it has a really nice theme and they also have a lot of different sodas to choose from too that you won’t find it a regular slider shop. Like good job to whoever designed it because you don’t find places like that within Brampton.
But overall thing that I came for was the food, and it did not meet my expectations to be honest. My notes are fix the mac & cheese and try different seasonings or something to make it spicy for spicy fries. And lastly, just try a more better combination for the sliders, I know you might be trying to be different than Dave’s but...
Read moreWent to this highly rated place for the first time yesterday and was excited to try the food. The pictures online looked great. Got the beef slider, hot chicken fries supreme, mac and cheese and the gochujang mozz sticks.
My first issue with this place is the server who asked if we were okay with cheese being on the sliders NOT TELLING US IT COSTS EXTRA FOR CHEESE! Very shady business practice and didn't appreciate the way he asked us if it's okay and didn't tell us it's extra. We also weren't given the receipt at all until we asked for it after just to check and we realized after we left that the cheese was an extra charge. I feel like they do this to hide their shady way of asking you for upcharges without telling you it's extra.
I would have forgiven the deceitful server if the food lives up to the hype but the food was just as deceitful. Mac and cheese has zero flavor and extremely small portion for how much u pay. The beef slider was decent nothing special more along the lines of a McDonald's cheeseburger. The mozz sticks don't even waste your time I tried them right after they were served and they were cold and it's $10 for 2 sticks that's a complete ripoff. The fries tasted frozen, the hot chicken was sweet and soggy and wasn't worth the money for the portion size.
All in all don't waste your money here, their prices are easily too high for the slop they serve with very small portion sizes and they have very shady business practices upcharging people. Their food was not good and I won't be coming back. Ever. I've honestly had better food from McDonald's and...
