Nova Grill & Bakery — Restaurant in Brampton

Me and my girlfriend came by here for a meal last Sunday. Due to the time we arrived, there were restrictions on what we could order, but in retrospect it really wouldn't matter. They do have a sit-down area which is nice, clean and has TV but the day was nice so we had a picnic.

The service was excellent, they are very patient and helpful. We gave a generous tip. The ambiance was very nice and you can see everything you'd like to order. There is a wide selection of food from meats and veges to all sorts of bakery goods, as you'd expect.

As for the meal... considering we took the food to go and found a picnic bench at Gage Park to eat, I already expected the food not to be too hot. Nonetheless, I absolutely loved the meal. We ordered lamb, a whole chicken, codfish (in the form of a lasagna-type dish) potato balls and macaroni salad on the side, as well as a chorizo bread loaf. I absolutely loved the lamb and the potatoes, some of the best I've ever had. I really liked the chicken and fish as well but the bones were annoying to deal with. The chorizo bread is actually a loaf of bread stuffed with shredded chorizo. This was good but I was hoping for more bread to meat ratio! Regardless this is some great food.

All this food only cost us under $40 which in hindsight was really awesome, considering that is the cost of a basic meal at Denny's or something. It costs a little more than other restaurants of the same style but it is way more filling and tasty so it makes up for it.

The only things I would say for improvement would be to display hours outside somewhere, or make it more noticeable. I actually still don't know the hours of this place, I just assume the worst because of the Downtown Brampton "Curfew" that kills the nightlife here.

Food tasty but owners attitude very poor!

She tells me today that "I'm the one who makes things difficult" so my dear you've just lost a client who has visited your takeout counter for years and especially during covid.

I normally order ahead but today I didnt and they were very busy. No chicken no rice. So i bought fillets fish and potatoes. On my way out, I noticed i was charged for cod fish instead which was more expensive. I approached the owner and asked how much the fillets were and she tells me she gave me cod. I said no you gave me fillets. She gave me my money back but only after she gave me that rude comment.

Two weeks ago i ordered a chicken combo #1 and when I got home i was missing a part of white meat with the chicken wing. We noticed right away and yes I complained saying we missed chicken. She remembered it was me and said today ya you missed the wing.

My dear, if I'm paying for one chicken I expect to get a whole chicken. If you overcharge me like you did today, I'm gonna tell you. I also made the comment today "everytime I come here I have a problem" and she replied that wasn't fair. What's not fair is your comment as an owner to a client who hasnt been nothing but loyal to your business.

For those returning customers check your orders thoroughly and especially your receipts. You may be surprised and itll be what shell say is an "honest...

I stopped off today to order dinner for my family at 5pm. I have my favorite Portuguese restaurant that I go to but they are on vacation right now. I decided to give this restaurant a try as it is not too far from my favorite one - and I can honestly say that I will never go back there again and I would have been better off going to McDonalds instead. I ordered 2 pork sandwiches and 2 steak sandwiches, with onion and pepper on them. The wait for my order was a bit long and people that ordered after me got their orders first. Also, the server asked if I wanted the sandwiches to be labelled and he did put a sticker on the bag holding the pork sandwiches. When I got home, we opened up the sandwiches which had been labelled wrong - the server had put the sticker on the bag holding the steak sandwiches. Also, the steak was very, very thin and there was no onion and pepper on the sandwiches - felt like eating just a bun. The pork sandwiches did have onion and pepper on them and the meat was a bit thicker, but still not worth the almost $40 I paid for...
