Last week I asked one of the workers about their halal status. He told me that this location was certified by the Islamic Forum. This is really funny because I am an active member of the Islamic Forum and we do not provide halal certification.
Today I asked a lady working there about their halal status. She told me that Osmow's website says they are halal. I told her that there is nothing on their website indicating they are halal. She told me the they are halal and have a halal certificate in the back. When I asked her to get it she said that they don't have any certificate. The workers are non muslims and they are lying about their halal status.
May 07/2019: It is interesting that the response from owner says that their "meet" is Halal. The spelling of the word you want to use is "meat". This is a deliberate use of the wrong word. Owner if you are saying that you can text me a Halal certificate, then how hard is it to put one up on your website or in your stores. Are you just another business trying to take advantage of muslim consumers by falsely telling people you are halal.
Please Muslims, ask for a Halal certificate when you go their restaurants. If they don't have one don't eat there. Legal action can be taken against businesses that falsely claim their...
Read moreThis is for 2 weeks ago. Honestly this has to be the worst location I have ever been to for Osmows. I ordered a Larger Chicken Shawarma, and asked for cheese to be added which I paid extra for, the young lady that was preparing the wrap walked to the back asked the Owner where the cheese was I asked for mozzarella, he pointed to the back left. This is where it gets real fast. The young lady proceeded to the left corner where boxes were kept, pulled out some cheese remaining in the bottom of a container sitting outside and not in a temperature controlled area and scrunched it up in her hands walked to the front and before she put it in the wrap I stopped her in her tracks and asked are you seriously thinking of using this in my food. I said are you all aware of food safety standards and why would you serve a customer that garbage. I saw everything you did with my own eyes, why is my question? This place is a mess, items are not stored how they should be. I saw the owner point you in that direction, clearly he has no clue either. people please stay away or you will end up getting sick as food safety is lacking here big time. Peel region inspectors need to...
Read moreThis is my second time here, and usually I avoid giving bad reviews. If you have nothing good to say, don’t say it at all. Right?
Well, I thought it’s my duty to review this after such a bad experience, both times.
The food is below adequate, so if all you care about is the food, there’s that.
Moving on. The cleanliness/hygiene standards here.
1/5 at best.
First visit: as a vegetarian, nothing annoys me more than seeing the staff use the same gloves as them handling meat for vegetarian customers. C’mon guys, let’s be considerate! I thought maybe that was if, and I don’t know why, but I came back here. Out of all of the options in the BCC food court, I came back here (I like falafels).
Second visit: I thought this time I might just get the platter so they don’t physically touch my food. This time, I found a long hair, deep inside my food (2 pieces). Picture is attached.
I will not be coming here again, and will consider reporting this to the city’s DineSafe program. I have no idea how they have their PASS licence.
I’m sorry to be so harsh, but it’s true. You guys need to work on your health and...
