I took my daughter out for a post birthday dinner(the day after), she was busy with friends the day of. My daughter ordered the Smothered Chicken, and we shared Wonton Nachos. Both were delicious, shout out to Chef Donald and Chef Andrea, the chicken was done to perfection, equally were the Wonton Nachos, "thank you both for adding to our dinning experience. Sarah was our server. From the onset of our connection, she was very friendly, cordially, and genuine, talking with my daughter, offering us seating options, asking us how our day went. Once seated, she took our order promptly, and never once made us feel like we were an inconvenience, on the contrary it was more like this wasnt our first time meeting her, she engaged in conversation with my daughter about her birthday breakfast the day before and Sarah even made suggestions for her to try in the future. I have worked in customer service my whole life I love people and when you genuinely do, it just naturally becomes apparent in each of your interactions, unfortunately in this day and age too many of my experiences have been polar opposite, like I i was putting my server out by requesting extra napkins, or another beverage, or another item, i mean visble eye rolls and audible sighs, in this day and age, customer service is a fading thing, so when you get a genuine, kind, and friendly server, it truly does make your entire experience such a great one. Sarah, thank you for making my daughter's and my experience such a pleasant one. Keep up the amazing work. At the end of our meal I asked Sarah if I could speak with her manager, so my daughter and I could share our positive feed back, Tyler was her manager, she was listened to what we had to share, we asked her who made our meal, that is how we found out our amazing food was made by Chef Donald and Chef Andrea, Tyler ended our experience on a positive note. If you go to the Pickle Barrel at the Bramalea City Center location, if you want a wonderful experience, ask for Sarah, and hopefully Donald and Andrea are working in the kitchen at that same time. 2 thumbs up for all of the aforementioned and! 5 stars for our...

We visited Pickle Barrel at Bramalea City Centre around 4 PM during happy hour and had a very disappointing experience from start to finish. When we arrived, there was no one at the front to greet us. I had to walk around and find a staff member myself. Eventually, someone who seemed to be working the bar came over and seated us.
I asked if she could recommend anything from the happy hour menu, and her response was, “Well, I got the wings.”—hardly helpful or enthusiastic. After reviewing the menu, we ordered the tofu bites and calamari as appetizers, and the fish & chips and steak & frites as our mains.
It took quite a while before any server came by. When one finally did, we placed our drink and appetizer orders. The apps actually arrived in decent time and were surprisingly good.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. I ordered the steak medium rare, but what I got had no sear, poor colour, was more on the rare side, and—worst of all—was extremely tough. It was so chewy I couldn’t even swallow it. I looked around but couldn’t find any staff nearby, so I had to walk over and flag down our server, who was chatting with other staff near the washrooms.
I told him the steak was inedible. His response? He casually explained that sirloin is “usually tougher.” I told him I understood that, but this was beyond acceptable. He didn’t apologize or show any concern. I asked if I could get something else and ordered the classic burger, assuming it would be safe.
He told me it would be out in five minutes. It took over 10. When it arrived, it was a disaster. The buns were cold, the patties were overcooked, dry, under-seasoned, and barely half the size of the buns.
We paid and left. I’ve never had such a frustrating restaurant experience. The service was inattentive, the food was poorly prepared, and the overall management seemed lacking. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI was very pleased with our recent visit to Pickle Barrel Bramelea Mall. It’s been a long time since I’ve last visited Pickle Barrel. The food, atmosphere and more importantly, the exceptional service exceeded our expectations.
Ethan was our server. He was very attentive and soft-spoken and kind. My babies were both fussy at the time because it was getting close to dinner time. Ethan made sure that our food arrived quickly, and it did.
I appreciated his genuine willingness to help, and his attention to detail.
Special thanks to the chef as well on October 5 /2025 - 5 pm , the pasta was cooked perfectly. The noodles were al dente, vegetables seasoned well with flavour - not over cooked , just perfect. The pasta included a tomato soup, it was very tasty.
The soup was actually so delicious, that we changed our meat loaf to opt for a second pasta, just so, we can all enjoy the soup! I’m usually not a fan of big boxed chained restaurants, but Pickle Barrel is pretty good.
Big bosses of Pickle Barrel- Ethan and your chef deserves to win the free dinner! It takes a great team to make a dream restaurant, these guys have got what it takes, and it shows.
Thank you for a delicious meal. My babies ate almost a full portion adult sized pasta, it says a lot about the food. Side note, we actually ordered the veggie pasta, which goes to show you how impressive the chefs skills are… because what kind of one year old and two year old would take a veggie pasta over anything else?
Well when the chef is actually a chef, children will naturally eat everything. Thank you to Ethan...
