I am sure to get hit from a Tsunami of location loyalists. But, I can not bite my tongue any longer: from the moment my wife and I entered the front door, I knew it would not be a usual August 8 visit. Despite being primetime lunch time, there was noone to meet and/or greet us at the door. We waited for a few minutes. Then, we noticed a machine far off to the side for registering. My wife began the process. The machine said there was no queu in front of us. Minutes later, someone came and said something to us so quietly that neither my wife nor I could hear what she said. But, it appeared to us that she was leading us to our table. So, we followed her. After being seated, around 6 or 7 minutes later, another server approached us and asked if wanted beverages. We asked for 2 Green Teas. She said okay and left. More than 5 minutes later, but less than 10 minutes, a couple of food dishes arrived. Okay. We started eating without the drinks first. A few minutes later, a few more food dishes arrived. We have now been seated for more than 15 minutes and have not received our beverages yet but food is flooding our small table. I decided to follow up with someone regarding our drinks. I spoke with yet another server and asked if our teas weren't ready yet, I would like to switch to iced tea (thinking it would be faster). As we were speaking, the Green Teas arrived. 20 minutes for 2 tea bags with hot water from a hot water dispenser?! Food that needs to be cooked ready in minutes?! Okay, again. The first dishes ordered were dim-sum, which was the dominant reason for that day's visit. Everything eventually came, except for the Har Gao. Our sushi, cooked hot apps all arrived as well. All was good except for the curried baby squid (or octopus). It had a strangely strong fishy taste and odd consistency. I often enjoy this dish at normal dim sum houses. This specific dish struck me as being not-as-fresh as it should have been. I dare venture that the specific dish was in fact past the point of being servable. It was pushed too far for too long. Another point I feel compelled to share is that of the 4 different women who served us, I could only hear and understand 1 clearly and consistently. Ths other 3 seemed to mumble or say far too quietly whatever it was they were trying to say. There were 2 male buspersons, from whom we received consistently more presence and service from. I could also hear and understand the 2 male buspersons. As we finished our meals, the long awaited Har Gao arrived 😖😖😖. So, we ate them with less enthusiasm and enjoyment than normally. The ice cream was not without its bump-in-the-road: all ice cream temperature was - +except for the Green Tea ice cream which came out like chilled shaving cream. How it became like that is one thing. Why it was served like that is another 🤔🤔🤔. Anyways, long story short, it was a disappointing visit. We still tipped 20% on the after tax total. We normally pay 30-40% for a Happier visit to the Hamilton location. Hopefully, this location will improve things soon. Beautiful real estate location. Beautiful esthetics inside. It would be a waste and shame if food quality and customer service did not validate the industry they are striving to be in.. #PLEASE...
Read moreFirst let me say, I have visited this location multiple times. It’s usually my go to sushi spot. But for whatever reason, today was a BAD experience. The food was great as always and our server Nino was excellent.
That being said, however, the cleanliness of the location was beyond questionable. Imagine you’re enjoying your food and have to pause to use the facilities. On you way you notice an awful smell. You open the back family bathroom and all you see is literal poop and poopy water all over the floor with poop covered toilet paper hanging out of the toilet onto the floor. This is exactly what happened today. It turned my stomach. I assumed this was a one off, and likely just happened and perhaps the staff weren’t even aware yet. So I decided to try the first women’s washroom. EVEN WORSE. Poop smeared everywhere. Toilet seat left up. Poop all over the place. Completely unusable, especially for a woman. I checked the second women’s bathroom, better toilet condition. But built up filth everywhere. I have never seen this restaurant in such a state. I basically had to go out into the mall to use the washroom.
At this point, my husband went to the men’s and had the same sickening experience. Needless to say our appetites were lost.
We had decided to leave. And asked for the bill. I would assume the manager, a woman, made the comment that we would be charged a surcharge for the left over food which of course I was NOT going to be paying. I explained exactly why I wouldn’t be paying. Perhaps if they kept their facilities clean, people wouldn’t lose their appetites.
Hoping that August 8 will learn something from this experience and ensure your washrooms are kept up properly - clean, stocked and sanitary.
If the washrooms look like this? What’s the kitchen like? Is it even safe to dine here anymore? Very very VERY...
Read moreToday I went to take my sister from out of town to enjoy ayce dinner here, for her birthday, the server assign to help our table was lazy, she was avoiding from serving the customers and the host had to get our drinks, and soy sauce trays I didn’t ask once.
2)when you need to look for your server to order your pop -you can see her talking in the corner to her co-workers that is upsetting.
I feel bad the busboy or the Kitchen helper working hard to bring your food and clearing the empty plates off my tables.
The sashimi cut was huge on a bed of ice made the food taste more like frozen raw seafood from The fish market it was not tasty sorry.
a lot of the items were removed they don’t got much choices.
Positive note the Food come out quick but rude server busy talking to each other to even pay attention, I couldn’t ask for extra napkin.
Sorry I would not come back. We work hard for our money we deserve some Respect. Since Covid, they use to have great food and great service. I guess it is what it is. You can hear loud sushi chef talking in their language from your table which is not great for customer eating. I had a dirrehea eating their food, I went at the restaurant. I just wish table server don’t serve ur food with their hand touching inside your plates it is not health sanitize.
