I have regularly been visiting this place for the last three years. Just like previous experiences, the lattes were nice and so were the baked goods. HOWEVER, the reason for the one-star review is as follows:
I had dropped in with family and placed a large order for a group of four. My two-year old was with me too; I wanted him to have something to drink along with the rest of us so I asked if I could have a glass of milk. I was abruptly told that "we don't do that". I politely said that I will pay for it but was again turned down in an offhand manner; the lady said there is no option to charge for milk in the system.
After a while, while they were preparing my order, I suggested if they could charge me for a small coffee and just give me milk instead. I was told that this is a corporate store and giving milk is against policy.
Both Timmies and Starbucks will give you milk so this was very surprising. However, what bothered me was the lack of understanding and care shown by their staff coupled with the inexplicable cold shoulder attitude. I could hear them snickering and talking about our group while we were seated which was very distasteful. What we hoped would be a relaxing coffee shop visit turned out to be a most uncomfortable experience. I don't plan to visit this café again. Read moreCame here with some family recently. Use to come here all the time. But my latest experience has deterred me from wanting to return to this particular location. When I came it was late afternoon I had the intention to have a nice cup of coffee and maybe some dessert. First thing noticed there were a couple of young white female employees, while I was ordering they were staring at their phones on social media and not even regarding a word I was saying. No eye contact, rude attitudes, no acknowledgement whatsoever. I ordered 2 large coffees, they gave me the wrong blends. When I ask them to correct their mistake. They seemed incredibly annoyed as if in some way I was inconveniencing them. I said please and thank you. No responses from them whatsoever no “you’re welcome”. My family member was also not impressed with their apparent display of rudeness. Also when I use to come here regularly along time ago the coffee always tasted good and fresh. It tasted like absolutely garbage. While I was sitting in the cafe they proceeded to treat other customers in a similar manner. And staring at their phones instead of being polite human beings. His name is harkirat i was willing to pay more but he was telling me and my cousin to give his store two good reviews to get an exchange on an item. It was disgusting to be frank. Never have I experienced such behaviour from a store owner what happened to satisfying the customer. Im a loyal customer and i loved second cup i tried a new drink with coconut syrup which was so bad due to the horrible artificial taste I was simply going to get another drink and pay the difference at first he refused and says we don’t do those kind of things here we’re not Starbucks then when he decided in his little brain that it would be a good idea to bargain with us like we’re in a fish market and tell us to give him two good reviews and then he’ll give us an exchange for the drink not only did he want the review from Me but he dragged my cousin into it as well which was so embarrassing.
