My fiancé, her friend and I went for dinner tonight at this restaurant. I absolutely never complain or review restaurants, except for positive experiences, but feel this needs to be rectified as I've never been so dissatisfied before at any restaurant. First, We arrived at 6:45pm for dinner after work. We sat down and were greeted by a new server, who was pleasant. I ordered the large Coors Banquet currently on promotion, and the others ordered two mixed drinks and water. After my beer arrived, without the drinks, we order 1 order of mozzarella sticks and 1 order of Garlic Sticks. We then waited around 20 minutes, at which point she came to take our order and without the mixed drinks either. I ordered all you can eat wings, honey garlic, dusted, bone-in. My fiancé ordered the Garlic Parm Burger, and our guest ordered 2 pounds of Sweet Asian Sauce. After another 25 minutes, our waitress delivered the two mixed drinks, nearly an hour after we ordered them, still without appetizers. She then double checked our order, and said she had forgot everything we ordered. Even for a new waitress, I would expect her to write down our order and strive to be customer service conscious. She then brought us two mozzarella sticks, and none of the garlic sticks as she had forgot them. After this, it was almost 30 minutes, when she returned with 1 pound of wings for our guest (Rather than the two she ordered), and also with a Garlic Chicken burger for my fiancé. The burger was physically made incorrectly, without breaded chicken. 5 minutes went by, and my wings arrived. They were wrong flavour, not dusted, and not all you can eat. She returned them to the kitchen and asked for my wings. I sat while my guest ate her 1 pound of wings, and my fiancé ate her incorrect burger. When my finally arrived, it was not 8:45. 2 hours after we were seated. When I requested 2 pounds of wing to take home with me, the manager said she could only give me a pound and a half as that's all they had. She then said she would offer us a discount on the bill, but when she returned she had charged us for everything we ordered, but also provided us only a 15% discount. I highly disagree that this is any sort of discount, especially after none of us received the actual things we ordered. I have never been so dissatisfied at any restaurant before. I realize everyone in training makes mistakes. Which is why I recommended to the manager that she have another staff member shadow the girl in training, just to make sure these problems don't occur. She literally told me that "I was the only customer with an issue, and you can't please everyone". I can honestly say after 2 hours and everything being incorrect, that she would've offered us the bill for free or at least for a very discounted rate. Eating should be a relaxing experience, not a 2 hour argument with nothing being correct.
My business is directly down the street from this St. Louis. I have eaten here more than 50 times in the past, as it's less than a 1 minute drive from our store. When I told the manager that she would be losing me and all of our employees as customers if this continued, she was completely uninterested. I can honestly say that I've never had such a poor eating experience before in my life. I, and I hope no others, will ever step foot into this store again. The idea of walking in at 6:45 and ordering all you can eat wings, and then leaving at 8:45 having just paid $100.00 to be given absolutely nothing I wanted, is completely disgraceful. Clearly the manager does not care, and I would imagine then that this review will go...
Read moreMy friends and I have been coming to this location of St.Louis Wings and Ribs for a over a decade and besides the hit and miss service, the food has always been as expected.
Tonight I came here only to be given a lecture by the manager on why I’m wrong about how my wings should taste!!
I’m not being funny but I’ve travelled all over the world and have vast culinary tastes...wings are my guilty pleasure and are at the bottom of the list of my culinary experiences but nevertheless I love them. I will say that normally the wings here are amazing but tonight was the exception and I’m being totally fair by saying that this has not happened before.
We ordered 2lbs if wings, the rib and wing meal which also comes with wings and we ordered 2 cocktails. The first order of 2lb of wings came and the fries were not crispy. They were really oily and limp. We let the manager know and he was very gracious and replaced them.
We dug into our wings, I ordered original, my friend ordered dusted. They were not at all crispy even though I specifically asked to have them well done and they were actually rubbery. In my experience these would have been old wings that were sitting there most probably since lunch time since we were the first in at about 4:30 p.m for the dinner crowd.
We received our wings and ribs and those wings were noticeably fresher and crispier. This was our comparison which is fair.
We advised the manager and he stood there and argued with us for over 15 minutes. He was condescending and very rude, this made us very uncomfortable. He told us how different flavors taste different, he said that dusted is different from original and just cane out with every ridiculous excuse in the book to not remake our wings. Seriously? This is not my first time here, not my first time ordering these wings, with these same sauces and flavors... I advised that all I wanted was to have them redone, he accused me of eating most of the meal? Unbelievable? We had 5 of 24 wings? So then I said listen I don’t want to argue and don’t need this and I don’t want anymore than I paid for, I counted the wings that were left and asked him to replace those. He was still hesitant? Then I said well then reimburse me? He then went into a lecture about cost and the amount of wings. Unbelievable. This was ridiculous. Then I told him forget it then, do whatever, charge me I don’t care I don’t want these wings we’ll just finish our drinks and go. That also wasn’t good enough, the man kept arguing.
Anyway after him being totally rude an inappropriate he reluctantly said that he would redo them? That’s all we wanted.
They came out and guess what? They were hot and crispy they were great. Like we’re used to. Was that so hard?
I’m so disturbed and disappointed and really didn’t need this on a Friday night!
I love the wings, love the server Liz (great person) and love the franchise but this was NOT COOL! We tipped her about 30% because she was so cool and it really was not her fault.
To the end Liz was awesome! She made us feel welcome and appreciated until the end!!! Great service.
To: St.Louis...these type of managers will surely tarnish your brand and your name. Your bars have always been a great place to watch games, chill, drink and have amazing wings. I would recommend that you please look into this location and address the management and customer service issues.
My friends and I will not be going back to...
Read moreI've been coming to St. Louis Bar and Grill for two years now. I visit it at least twice a week. For those who say that there are times that not enough servers are on, this usually happens after the rush lunch when it is unpredictable. Sometimes you can go in there in the middle of the afternoon (between the lunch and dinner rush) or shortly after and there are 10 people in there, other times you can get a rush with big parties. So most times having one server is fine. It's the restaurant business, it's unpredictable at times, so every time this rush happens, I'm just patient and it all works out.
There's a litany of reasons I have chosen St. Louis Bar and Grill as my CHEERS. First the service is excellent. I have gotten to know much of the staff on a business level over the last two years and everyone, EVERYONE, is terrific. Stephanie (Steph) talks movies with me, and not just regular movies, but the underground stuff, TIFF and horror, which is my fave genre...plus she tells me about her somewhat humourous fear of travel. Mel has good advice for eating right and it's because of her advice and insight that I have learned how to eat relatively smartly while at the establishment....and Jess shares her every day life stories with me. Her smile is infectious and whenever the three of them are working, it's that much better. I'm fond of all three of them, they make the experience worth coming. The other servers are nice as well. Courtney and Cloey and Allie are also good for shooting the breeze with. Ali and Abbeera, the owners, always greet me with a handshake or a smile and my incessant requests for the sports I want to watch on TV are always met with a smile. Even the chef, Brandon, has come out to say hi from time to time when it isn't busy. He prepares a meal that has been cultivated especially for me. I'm fairly conscious of what I eat and drink due to the nature of my job and the owners and staff, and of course Brandon, have gone out of their way to accommodate me.
So yes, this review might be biased because I'm a regular, but I am a regular for a reason. It's a terrific place to hang out, have good conversation with the staff and feel like I matter when I'm there. I'm greeted by name and when it's not busy, Brandon has my meal cooking the instant I walk in the door. St. Louis Bar and Grill is a great place to...
