My wife and I had lunch at the Five Guys restaurant at the Dix/Trente shopping mall on Monday, December 5, 2023. I ordered a large cheeseburger and fries and a small burger and small fries for my wife (she was occupying a table at the time of my order). In response to the cashier about condiments for my order, I asked for raw onions and mustard. I didn’t order any condiments for my wife thinking she could customize her burger afterwards. After being served our order, my wife returned to the counter requesting her un-dressed burger be “all dressed” by adding some ketchup, mustard and relish. The immediate response from behind the counter was: “Do you have your receipt?” which she did not have. There was no explanation provided as to why this was required. She left the counter with her undressed burger and returned to our table insulted, angry and upset. At her request, we ate and then left So, I’m left pondering why this franchise would be so reticent to fulfill such a simple verbal service request. There are some possible explanations: Would the addition of a dab of ketchup, mustard or relish bankrupt this Five Guys? Probably not. This was not like asking for additional cheese or bacon, which were clearly shown as extras. Was asking for condiments after the order was handed over to the client break some unpublished restaurant process? Probably not, there were no such rules posted in the restaurant. In addition, I asked for a simple plastic glass for water and was given it by the French Fry cook without hesitation. Was this the response of a misogynistic employee who said it to my wife but would not have the guts to say it to my face? Possibly, but I have no proof either way. Would I be aimlessly walking around Dix/Trente with an undressed burger intending on stealing condiments from Five Guys? (You can answer that one). Suffice it to say this employee’s response ruined what would otherwise have been a pleasant lunch. My recommendation is to avoid this restaurant to prevent a similar humiliating experience from occurring to you. If you are interested in burgers and fries while shopping at Dix/Trente, there are several other options at your disposal: Les Trois Brasseurs La Belle et la Bœuf Houston’s
The overall quality of a restaurant, even a burger and fries place or a Michelin star winner (a few of whom I have had the great luck to enjoy), is a combination of numerous tangible and intangible factors, notably the creativity of the menu, the quality of the food, presentation and very importantly, service.
This place fails miserably in its service. It does not deserve any of my future business nor, I would suggest, any of yours. Hey Five guys, the correct answer was: “Yes, madame, how can...
Read moreThe atmosphere was good. The place was busy but not rowdy. The layout is accomodating of busy times while leaving plenty of space.
While ordering, the staff was curteous and patient. One of the shakes we ordered was put into the system wrong but when we recieved it, were offered to have it remade.
We ordered a salted caramel and a banana milkshake, and a poutine.
The milkshakes were great, made with real ingredients, real ice cream, and the quality of the flavours showed. I was very happy with what I recieved.
The poutine was not so great. The gravy was served too hot, which made the first few mouthfuls hard to eat. For a few bites after that it was great, the fries are handmade and have a good flavour, there was plentiful cheese; the gravy was not much worth mentioning.
After that, the fries started turning slimey, and the cheese was melting far too fast. As I approached finishing my poutine it started to feel quite foul in my mouth as the fries became far too slimey to be called even fries.
I ate it at the store, had I waited until.I got home, it would have certainly been inedible.
The price was huge as well. For two shakes and a poutine, I paid over $27 after tax. The poutine portion size was great, but considering how bad it turned, it wasn't remotely worth the price.

Read moreI called today to see the options for the catering services. I’m writing this review so hopefully the owner of the business can see this and find the rude and inconsiderate person I spoke to today. i know if this was my business I would not want someone who is going to not only refuse potential business but treat clients like trash.
I first spoke to one female and then was transferred to another female. I was never rude to this person I just have an inquiry for catering services. I spoke with a female and she directly hung up on me as I was asking questions for the catering options, she said they were available online but yet I can’t see that online it doesn’t even show hamburgers are available for order . She didn't want to deal with the call and found it easier to just hang up on me. Then I called back again and asked her nicely and directly why did she hang up on me and she hung up on me again knowing it was me. I take the time to write the review so that it can be known that this person is not good for the business and the future clientele. Figure it out 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
