UPDATE Dec. 24th: Never Again! Came for dinner this evening and unfortunately was quite disappointed. Being I’m a creature of habit I always order the same things as I did again this evening. Since my review posted below I’ve frequented this place enough and always ordered the same exact dishes and they’ve always been consistent till this evening. Originally I gave them a 5 star rating and that was strictly based on quality, consistency and kind servers. Not professionals but kindness goes a long way to me. But unfortunately the lack of knowledge REALLY showed in a negative way this evening after sending back the soup that had too much coagulated/jelly like substance. The momo sauce was quite watery but still edible thank God and the last dish that came out was the Singapore noodles that lacked the normal curry seasoning but was quite salty. Usually you could SMELL the curry seasoning before it hits your mouth but NOT tonight! The noodles were very bland and surprisingly salty. I explained to the lady what was wrong and even told her to taste it, then asked to have the kitchen fix it. She seemed to have understood and took the dish back. Brings the exact SAME dish out but with more noodles added and a bit more garnish on top 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. No CURRY SEASONING. Upon going to pay my bill I ask the lady at the register if she knew what happened only to get a reply “Yeah, Sorry”. I’m not looking for discounts or freebies but being lifelong in the business I do expect quality and consistency just like ANYONE else would. Some things I can look away from and let slide but if you’re in this business rule of thumb is don’t mess with the quality and BE CONSISTENT. Especially when you have, or used to have a good product. People have to learn RIGHT from WRONG, ACCEPT your loses and LEARN from YOUR mistakes. If anybody in business, especially the food business, has the mindset of “Its not going to be my loss”, you better rethink that cause in this case you may have made your money on your subpar/bland/salty noodles but lost frequent customers for LIFE due to coagulated substance in your soup, watery momo sauce, bland/salty Singapore noodles that were remade and lack of service skills. I can’t say I foresee yous learning from your mistakes either when you allow your wait staff to serve patrons in sweatpants as if they just rolled out of bed…. Shameful downturn on Christmas Eve. 👎👎👎
The food is incredible at this place. ABSOLUTELY AUTHENTIC Hakka Chinese. Tonight we ordered the Delhi Momos, Sticky Crispy Beef, Hakka Tandoori Chicken fried Rice and Singapore Noodles. Every dish is a winner there. If you love intense Asian flavours, all homemade, you will certainly appreciate this place. A hidden gem with quite an extensive menu. We usually get the Hakka Beef fried Rice which is equally as amazing as the tandoori fried rice. The crew seem very humble and attentive. They try hard to always give you a welcoming experience which is always appreciated and the food is consistently fresh and good and as you can see in the pictures the portions are generous reasonably priced. We wish them great success!!! They really deserve it. Bravo to the...

Located in Burlington, Hakka Rice & MoMo House offers a delightful fusion of Hakka, Thai, Indian, and Nepali cuisines. Upon entering the cozy establishment, my party and I were promptly seated without any waiting—an auspicious start to our dining experience.
Our culinary adventure commenced with an order of paneer chili dry and veg Hakka noodles, complemented by a serving of veg steamed momo, whose anticipated preparation time of 30 minutes was communicated to us with refreshing honesty.
The veg Hakka noodles were a savory delight, expertly seasoned and generously adorned with crisp vegetables, providing a satisfying balance of flavors and textures. However, the paneer chili dry, while decent, fell short of expectations due to slightly tough paneer, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish.
Moderately spiced and thoughtfully portioned, each dish showcased a harmonious blend of ingredients, setting the stage for the true star of the evening—the veg steamed momo. A testament to culinary craftsmanship, these delicate dumplings exceeded all expectations, boasting a tantalizing fusion of flavors within a flawlessly thin outer layer. The filling, reminiscent of paneer bhurji, captivated the palate with its richness and depth.
Even as I savored each delectable bite, the impeccable balance of flavors rendered any additional dipping sauce unnecessary. Though initially unable to finish my portion, the momo proved to be even more delightful upon reheating the next day—a testament to their enduring appeal.
The attentive service and reasonable prices further enhanced the dining experience, with the total bill for three dishes and a beverage amounting to a modest $44, excluding tax.
In conclusion, Hakka Rice & MoMo House offers a memorable culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves a lasting impression. For aficionados of Nepali cuisine, the veg steamed momo are an absolute must-try, ensuring that I will undoubtedly return to indulge in their flavorful...
Read moreSo I was back on Mother’s Day. The lady owner wz super nice as wz the young lad helping serve (a newbie to Canada - Welcome!). They had connected my review to me and were careful to make changes I suggested. That’s always a nice gesture. Have to say, they are doing very well; lotsa customers coming in and/or picking up means their food is well liked.
My honest review, covering the good and the not so good…. This place apparently only opened about a week ago. The Chilly Chicken was good, tasty and well proportioned for at least 2 adult persons, better than any hakka food place in the Burlington/Oakville area. The meat was lightly dredged in flour (not as I’ve had in the other restaurants with a small piece of meat and five layers of flour), a definite health plus point. I would suggest a light soy sauce so the food does not look black and taste too salty. I couldn’t see the chillies in my dish. The Regular Hot & Sour Soup i ordered was a generous size for 2 adults and a child, and tasty. The Prawn Pakodas were a generous number of pieces and tasty. I would suggest less flour/pieces or more shrimp, as some were nothing but onion and flour. What bothered me, particularly in this pandemic environment, is the cleanliness factor… the entrance was messy as was the main door fully covered in greasy, clearly visible, fingerprints top to bottom. I can therefore imagine the door handle being the same. Perfect way to pass on infections. The floors seemed like they weren’t properly cleaned or in need of a good scrubbing, as was the washroom, albeit the venue is old and tired. I had been once the the restaurant that was in place, previously. The decor was confusing with chinese lanterns and Egyptian wall art, likely as they are just starting out. I had the unfortunate experience to be able to look into the kitchen whilst on my way to the washroom and i will say It made me queasy unfortunately. Again, they are new and my hope is, all will improve as they settle...
