Fell well short , while visiting Burlington and using google the paid ad service was for this restaurant and after a quick review and the fact it was 4 minutes away we ventured in. First there was no greeting at door, which on the surface was no big deal we seated ourselves at a table for two close to the bar and although the table was dirty the assumption was it would be clean when one of the staff members attended. Within a reasonable time we were attended to drinks we served and the drink Guinness I was served overflowed onto the table leaving a puddle and I was told it would be cleaned up perfect I thought the table can be too. After waiting 5 minutes and not wanting to get my clothes soiled I went and found spray and a cloth cleaning not only the spill but the table myself. The waiter noticed this as I placed it on the bar but without apology for lack of attention just continued on their work.
At this point honestly this didn't really bother me having had family work in the service industry I get it, it's busy and it appears they are short staffed so why not help and not get frustrated. The food was served and it was delicious no complaints on that department. We were not approached to get another drink order until after we had eaten by now I could tell the server attention to the job was lacking as she had spent as much time talking about other things to one person at the bar than focus on customers. When she came back to the table we just requested the bill, when she return she said " check the bill if there is anything on there incorrect let me know" An odd statement given my years in age and many times eating out. On review my spouses order was entered incorrect or as we thought. When it was pointed out we were given the reason was my wife had ordered from the lunch menu and it was too late. It was 3pm! Huh! Ok we all get different menus at different times , but usually when that error occurs it's pointed out as it's ordered not after it's made and eaten and then something that is almost double the price added to the bill. I mean it was entered into the iPad surely the software would reject a lunch menu item outside the lunch menu hours thus not allowing it. I looked at her with disbelief and said that's fine. I paid the bill in fully no tip! Which is something I've maybe done three times in my entire life because even when serves fall short most often you can tell it's a staffing issue. This one was on her quality of service and staffing. So the short comings : No welcome at the door! Dirty table , spilled drinks not cleaned! Minimal table service! Deceiving billing practices!

Read moreMy family of 11(8 adults, 3 kids) recently dined in for dinner on a Saturday evening(6pm). My fiancé and I have dined here many times in the past and had a great experience with the food and okay service, so we were looking forward to bringing our extended family to try it out while they were in town. We were pretty disappointed and turned off the whole restaurant after our latest visit. For a Saturday evening, it was actually quite slow in the dining room, with many open tables, so I’m really not sure what the excuse was for the slow and mediocre service. We ordered 3 appetizers, nachos, potato skins and bruschetta, all which looked great except the bruschetta had more red onion than tomato, and in large chunks so all you could taste was onion. I personally pulled a medium length blonde hair out of my mouth after a couple bites into my Forty creek burger, I don’t usually complain about a hair on the plate especially if it is the same colour as mine and could have come from me but this was from the centre of my burger (My hair is also dark brown and long, so it definitely didn’t come from me.) they offered to remake it and took my plate away, fries and all. After my family wa pretty much finished their meals my burger arrived without my fries… we then asked for the fries since I only ate 3 before finding a hair. Fries came, tasted like the same fries that were just reheated. My moms ceaser salad tasted “off” after 3 of us tried it to make sure it wasn’t just her, we were told “it was probably too much anchovies” they took the salad away and said they would take it off the bill. Buffalo chicken sandwich, tasted like the sauce had been sitting in the fridge too long or tasted like fridge. A few other small things about the food but not enough to complain about. On top of all this, for most of our dinner, who we thought could have been the manager or owner stood at the front by the hostess stand with her arms crossed, staring at our table, sometimes accompanied by another waitress. Our waiter seemed a little shy, he did apologize for everything but I wouldn’t say he went out of his way to make the experience any better. We were pretty disappointed the manager never came over to apologize after all the issues we encountered with our food. The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths and I don’t think we will be back...
Read moreNot sure where to begin. Came in for dinner with myself and my wife and 3 children. Was greeted at the door and the “manager” licked her fingers to get my kids 3 kids meals. (Gross) Arrived at the table and there were a couple of bugs on the table eating the crumbs left behind from the previous guests. Server “cleaned” the table. We ordered our food 2 kids meals and 3 entrees. I asked for a recommendation for myself and she recommended the burger but needed to read the menu because she couldn’t remember the name. I agreed to the burger and was excited to try it. She repeated our order and it wasn’t correct. I corrected the order and she said ok. We ordered 1 white milk and she came back to say the restaurant had no milk. The waitress said the manager was busy and the chef that does the ordering was off for 2 weeks. There were a total of 3 tables that were seated and eating in our section but as “busy” and understaffed as she mentioned she still had time to be texting or browsing on her cell phone. We received most of our order and had the kids and my wife start eating. My recommended burger didn’t arrive. She came to see how everything was and I mentioned that if the “burger” wasn’t on the way to just cancel it. She asked what I had ordered and I thought she was kidding. I mentioned “didn’t you recommend something for me?” She said she didn’t remember. At that point the experience was a “0”. No manager came to the table to apologize. She then came to ask if the kids wanted the included ice cream. We said 3 vanilla scoops. She repeated 3 vanilla scoops and my wife and I were amazed that she was now on the ball. She brings out the ice cream. 2 vanilla and 1 chocolate. SMH. At this point we had given up hope. I thought maybe there was a hidden camera and we were on some kind of prank show. Absolutely horrible service. The worst I have ever had and had to write this review. Food was a 3 star....
