A Night of Laughs but Disappointing bites.

I recently visited Moon Beam Cafe in Burlington for a stand-up comedy night, and while the show delivered a decent evening of laughs, the overall experience at the cafe left much to be desired.

To begin with, the ambience was quite underwhelming. Upon entering, I noticed the space was unusually dark—only to find out later that none of the lights were working. While the dim setting might seem intentional at first glance, it turned out to be a maintenance issue, which is both surprising and concerning for a place hosting public events.

The stand-up comedy show, however, was the highlight of the evening. It started around 8:10 PM and went on until about 10:15 PM. The ticket price of around $22 (plus tax) felt reasonable for the entertainment provided. The comedians had good energy and connected well with the audience. If you're looking for a casual laugh, this part of the evening won't disappoint.

Unfortunately, things took a downturn when it came to the food and Shisha experience. We ordered nachos (approximately $17 plus tax) and a regular one-flavour Shisha ($24.99). To my surprise, they also charged $1.99 extra just for the Shisha pipe, bringing the total to over $27 before tax, which felt quite overpriced.

As for the nachos – they were honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had. The chips tasted stale and oily, and the olives had a strange, unpleasant aftertaste. It felt like the ingredients weren’t fresh at all. For $17, I expected much better quality. It's disappointing when a food business cuts corners on freshness, especially when charging premium prices.

In conclusion, while the comedy show was enjoyable, the food and Shisha were a letdown. I wouldn’t recommend Moon Beam Cafe as a restaurant experience, but might consider attending a future event—just without ordering anything off the menu.

Rating: 2/5 – purely for the entertainment value. The rest needs serious...

From ~okay to Great - Lounge Thrives Under New Management

I've had the pleasure of frequenting this quaint little lounge for a while, and I must say, the recent change in management has made all the difference. Before the transition, the shisha was passable, and the chicken wings were hit-or-miss. However, under the new management, both offerings have been elevated to exceptional levels. And the chai/tea is amazing as well.

The shisha, which used to be inconsistent, now boasts rich, vibrant flavours that never disappoint – I’ve come to like Kiwi Paan flavour. Whether I'm in with friends playing cards or there watching a sporting event like UFC this past weekend, this place delivers a consistently satisfying experience.

And let's talk about those chicken wings! They've gone from being an unreliable side dish to a mouthwatering main event. Each order now features perfectly cooked, juicy meat coated in a delectable array of bold and balanced sauces.

The lounge’s atmosphere remains warm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for meeting friends, working remotely, or relaxing solo. The staff, now more attentive and engaged, ensures a seamless dining experience from start to finish.

In conclusion, this lounge has undergone a remarkable transformation under its new management. The shisha is now a standout, the chicken wings are a must-try, and the overall ambiance remains delightful. If you're seeking a reliable spot for great shisha and superior wings, look no further – this lounge is now a top...

Such a cute but trendy shisha lounge! Brand new but they have really interesting mix of flavors of shisha (highly recommend Aloha + brain freezer mix!), mocktails (loved the mango mojito) and appetizers (their chicken kabab bites and sweet and chilly wings were yummy). I first ordered the mango-tango+brain freezer shisha combo and I found the flavor quite mild and had requested a head change, and the staff helped me out and gave me the Aloha+brain freezer shisha and that was so impressive to me (no-one cares usually, other shisha places don't really care to fix or change your shisha head if you didn't like it or found issues with it- these guys did! and I really appreciate that) Service is also impeccable, we placed order for shisha in advance, so everything came in really quickly even though were a large group of people. It was very well managed and the service was on point constantly. This will be my Burlington go to for all things...
