Sadly since this location was bought out by another owner, there have been some very noticeable changes to experience and service in this location. Food quality has dipped a bit from previous owners- give it a 4/10 on a good day. For example, today most of our food was quite dry. In comparison to previous ownership, food was always fresh, but since the switch over, the quality has vastly changed. A lot of times find mushy pieces or close to rotting toppings ( usually have to pick it out of my food while eating) as well as portion sizes I’m usually stuck asking 3-4 times for the staff to put more than a sprinkling of lettuce or tomatoes or other toppings while previous owners actually gave a fair sized portion of each topping and never had to ask for more ( especially since 2 individual items with 1 drink ends up costing us $38, I should be getting a fair amount for what I’m overpaying for) I feel like every time I come here to pick up late night meals, they are rationing each and every portion of food from protein to toppings or sauces. Customer service has dipped as well- give it a 3/10- sometimes I catch the staff on a good day, but most of the time I am “greeted” with a very disappointed look that someone has entered the restaurant. like it’s bad that I have shown up. Don’t typically feel welcome upon entering this establishment. Please note- I am never rude and have always and will always greet another person with “hello , how are you doing?” I am polite and respectful. Yes based off of these experiences i can choose to dine somewhere else, but it’s somewhat affordable-ish and it’s close to home and can easily pick up food for the family and or bring them along for a quick bite. I come here for meal convenience. At this location I commonly get an annoyed look that I am there. A lot of the staff look very unhappy to be there and look like they are miserable. Overall atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit bland, give it a 4/10 not a very exciting place to sit in and eat at. But most places are usually like this so it is what it is. whenever I’m there I usually find a lot of food on the floors or have to wipe down our table with napkins before eating. Only once have I ever seen anyone clean, but they just moped over the food that was on the floor and left it there. Other locations have very similar issues that I have visited but after 5-10 visits after new ownership has taken over it has not gone into a positive direction. It’s a bit of a let down unfortunately. Food quality needs to be worked on more, customer service training needs improvement( or maybe hire staff that actually want to work and be there and not dismiss customers that bring you business), and have more staff working during busy hours say like a dinner rush… there were a number of people in line waiting for their orders and both employees ( only 2) were scrambling and going back and forth between different customers trying to complete orders instead of going in order of when they arrived. Wasn’t really fair to us waiting for over 25 minutes to have our order started and completed when they served people that came in after us by more than 10 minutes ( we didn’t have a large order it was only a small burrito and a bowl)… took almost 30 minutes for us to be served and...
Read moreUpdate (4 Star) Oct 2024 After about half a year I decided to give them a shot again as bar burrito has discontinued their barbacoa beef. There was is a girl that works there, Foram, she would always do an amazing job. My most recent visit the guy who made my burrito Shiv, also did a great job. He made a large burrito that was actually large, and didnt sneak an extra charge for sauce on my burrito onto my bill.
Old Review (1Star) March 2024 Yesterday and today i went to get a burrito from this location, like I have been for years, but a 1$ charge for a 2oz container extra sauce was snuck onto my bill without saying anything by the older woman that works there. I did not get a side of sauce. She is also the same one that when she makes a large burrito it is the same size as the regular burritos that others make, I believe it is because she is the owner. But i will be going to this burrito place less often, and when i do go there if i enter and i see she is there probably just leave and go to bar burrito down the street instead. The guys that work there and the younger woman that works there all do a good job and do not try to sneak thinks onto the bill.
Old Review (5 stars) Jan 2020 This location is much better than the other appleby line location.
The food is good, there wasnt any small bones in the chicken like the other location would usually have.
The service was great, At the other location when I asked for extra sauce the guy said no and if i didnt like it i could leave. At this place when i asked for extra sauce the girl said no problem, smiled, and gave me more sauce. When I said i didnt want any beans, she asked if i would like a little more rice than usual or if i wanted some veggies on the burrito.
The difference between the locations is like night and day. If you are in the mood for some Tex-Mex food i would recommend...
Read moreI'll give five stars to the atmosphere because I was the only one in there and I think I'm a party LOL
The food absolutely delectable. I'm a forced vegetarian and when I saw tofu on the menu I thought well, I'd like to try it, but I hate tofu. The woman behind the counter had no problem giving me a small piece to try. I found that I actually liked it quite a lot and I had it put into my burrito.
The burrito itself was delicious. The vegetables were crisp, the tofu was spicy and squeaky which I quite liked, had just the right amount of spice, and she didn't drown it in sauce which I very much appreciate it.
The bathroom is immaculate. That's the first thing I always check out, the bathroom. If the bathroom is a mess, my expectations are tempered. If the bathroom is spotless, I know I can expect pretty good food.
The real star of the review is the service. The woman behind the counter was a friendly and helpful. I asked for a Corona Cero, but there was none in the fridge. Instead of shrugging and saying sorry, we don't have any, she called someone. When she hung up she apologized and said they do have it, but it's at room temperature. I said that's not a problem. Then I asked for lime, because who drinks Corona with no lime, amirite? She looked a little panicked, went into the back, then came out with a little cup of lime juice and said I'm sorry, that's all we have. I said you know what? Not a problem. I poured the lime juice into the bottle and it was good.
6:30 p.m., I hadn't eaten all day, and this was the first chance I had to actually sit down and...
