Fantastic service, incredible knowledge of electronics and compatibility of products, and an impeccable understanding of how to use different parts for their respective assortment of uses. Prices were all fantastic, as well.
I went in (for the first time ever) as a last resort trying to find a replacement connector/plug for a cord. Didn't know the first thing about it; even what it was called.
The staff were indescribably helpful in solving the problem I had. After promptly showing me to the aisle in which the plugs were stocked (sounds standard and expected, but if you only knew how many aisles there are... each with a VAST selection of electronic goods... you'd have been impressed, too...), the lady sorted through it all to find the right part for my needs, and walked me through the different available options for finishing my project.
She gave me everything I needed to get the job done, and then some....
I need to add that a) this was last minute emergency, and b) they were closing soon. Nonetheless, they didn't hesitate to help me thoroughly. They told me about extra things I might need and advised me to buy them just in case. They said they'd be happy to return it all afterwards if I didn't need it.
Sure enough, didn't need them. But, a different store, different city (Cambridge), happily returned them a week later.
One of the best shopping experiences I have ever had. Can't wait to need some more electronics, because I know exactly...
Read moreA components, gadgets, and electronic tools store. This has always been a favourite store of mine. If you have a hobby or passion and a store that matches, you know the feeling of just walking the isles, browsing the shelves, and imagining the possible projects. The layout has been reorganized a few times over the years, but I quite like the increased inventory and presentation they have now. At the component level, you'll likely be trying to find something close, so bring your phone with you to do technical look ups, or do your homework via their on-line inventory before you go. If they don't have stock in this location they will bring it in from another location, and have always been very quick. Staff is somewhat helpful, but I'm a guy, so of course I don't think to ask for help very often, I rather enjoy browsing this store. Pricing is usually good, definitely better for comparative parts than at something like Best Buy. They definitely have a huge selection of electronic tools, games, and gadgets. If you are looking for a gift for a technical kid or friend, this might be your best spot...
Read moreWell, to people with problems...This is NOT a Futureshop or BestBuy where you will find commission hungry sales associates helping you out. It is a spare parts warehouse and one has to know what they are looking for. Even when you ask, you should use proper technical language so they know what you are looking for not that thingy and this thingy kind of questions. Go there spend some time walking around isles, you will know where is what. I love this store, never had any problems, no issues with exchange, returns or even warrantees as long as you follow their policies. You loose your receipts then that is an issue, but if you never opened or used that item then most of the time they help you out exchange it. Now as Futureshop gone, TigerDirect packed up and The Source is not too far from closing, I am happy that Sayal Electronics is still there to shop. Yes they are brown SO WHAT? FYI, "SAYAL" is a surname/last name in India :) In fact I am going there tomorrow to find a tricky solution to my audio...
