Sunset Grill on Fairview Street in Burlington is a breakfast haven for locals and visitors alike, serving up hearty, greasy spoon-style meals that comfort the soul and satisfy morning cravings. Known for its extensive breakfast menu, Sunset Grill has become a go-to spot for those seeking a robust start to their day.
The atmosphere of Sunset Grill is exactly what you'd expect from a traditional breakfast diner: straightforward and no-frills, with a focus squarely on the food. Their breakfast sandwiches, a highlight of the menu, exemplify their commitment to freshness and quality. Each sandwich is meticulously prepared, featuring well-cooked, flavorful ingredients sandwiched between soft, yet firm bread that holds up to the task. The result is a delicious and filling meal that proves to be a perfect pick-me-up in the morning hours.
While I regularly opt for delivery through Uber Eats, which is consistently reliable and quick, dining in is equally enjoyable, thanks to the diner's warm and welcoming staff. The service is quick, attentive, and always with a smile, enhancing the overall dining experience by making you feel right at home.
Although the menu is vast, offering everything from pancakes to omelets, it’s the home fries that unfortunately don't measure up to the rest. They often lack the crispiness and seasoning one might expect, coming off a bit bland and underwhelming. However, this minor setback doesn’t detract much from the overall quality of the meal, as every other dish is cooked to perfection and packed with flavor.
For anyone in Burlington looking for a dependable, delicious breakfast, Sunset Grill on Fairview is a must-try. It embodies the essence of what a breakfast diner should be—simple, satisfying, and unpretentious. With its large menu and consistent quality, aside from the home fries, it’s easy to overlook the minor flaws and appreciate it for its many strengths. Overall, Sunset Grill deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars, holding its place as a local favorite for a classic...
Read moreIf I could put 0 stars I would. I’ve come to this restaurant many times and wow has it ever taken a turn for the worst. In the window there is a sign stating ‘proudly under new management’ if I were the management I would be embarrassed to have that, they couldn’t manage a litter of cats let alone a business. They hound their staff to keep up on their work which isn’t going to help anything let the poor girls be, they don’t even seem to know the first thing about their business I’ve over heard the new management asking their staff for pointers... how pathetic. Not only that but the quality of food is terrible now, the wait is atrociously long and half the time it’s sitting in the window for 5-10 minutes where the waitresses are scrambling to put together orders that aren’t done so by the time you get it it’s cold and bland. I made sure to sit by the food window to witness this first hand after a few of my friends told me how terrible the restaurant had become, even on the way in I was warned by a couple leaving that t was going to be a terrible experience and that I was better off going to McDonald’s. I’m so disappointed in this ‘new management’ the old management had this place running amazingly with good food good service it’s a shame to see what it’s become. I even feel sorry for the servers who have to deal with this mess because by all means it’s not their fault I’ve been served by a few of the girls there with the old management and they were amazing it’s too bad they’re now stuck with the sinking ship of the new management. Bring back old management and I’ll be sure to return, until then i suggest everyone stay far away from this location unless you like cold food...
Read moreSo, this is the story. We came to this all- day breakfast, and waited to be seated. We ordered coffee and were ready to order the main dish. We were waiving hands for someone to come over and take the order, no reaction. We waited for over 15 minutes just for the order to be taken. The order was 2* their new California Benedict. Asked for runny yolk and fully cooked egg whites. The dishes were actually cooked fairly fast. The order seemed ok until you get to cut a piece. Bacon was half cooked/ half raw. The egg white was almost completely liquid on my plate and only 2/3 eggs were kind of fine on the other plate. Guacamole? Maybe a sniff? I don't think they should even be mentioning that the order contained guacamole. Maybe half a teaspoon per plate. We first waited for anyone to come to the table and ask if everything was ok... Still no reaction and considering we were hungry, I ate sort of half a plate. We ate, so we paid, but I decided to leave a review with a server. Instead of a discussion, I was almost yelled at by a different server and the cook. What kind of behaviour is that? Taste wise this was the absolute worst egg Benedict I have ever tried. Moreover, the server was mad because apparently they let us in when they were closed. Nobody mentioned this upon our entry though. Instead of a discussion they wanted to start a conflict, and said "some people just like to leave a review" and slamed the door after we left. I am...
