I've been here a couple of times in the last few months and almost everything was pretty good, but I went there last night for dinner and drinks and to watch the raptors game and I was so shocked and appalled at the attitude and the actions of our server Danielle and the manager (didn't catch his name).
We were seated in the bar area at 7 pm, and it was by no means busy at the time. for some reason they seated us a table for 4 and then put chairs on the end so it's seated 6, but we were still one seat short. We didn't complain because we knew that they would be busy for the game so they were probably just trying to save tables…..BUT there were multiple tables that could fit 4 in the bar area with only 2 people seated at it (all night). It seems like the manager only accommodated his friends or people who seem to be regulars…..
Before we even got our menus, Danielle asked us what we wanted to drink to start. I said can we please just grab some waters for now because we didn't look at the menu yet and we're also still waiting for a few friends. She said if we're sitting in the bar area we have to be ordering alcohol NOT water. We told her that we were planning on ordering some drinks, but as we just sat down 1 minute ago we want to browse the menu and also ASKING FOR WATER IS NORMAL.
When she kept pushing for us to order alcohol we told her that she was making a friend at the table who didn't drink alcohol feel uncomfortable, and I kid you not, Danielle said "I can sell you a bottle of water". WHAT?!?!?! She kept threatening to move is into the dining room because she wanted the bar area to appear like people were drinking. Was SUPER weird because at every other table, over half the table did not have drinks and only had water. Not sure why she singled us out.
Then when 2 of our friends arrived she asked them what they wanted to drink to start with... They said I'll grab a water to start (implying they would be ordering something else when they decided). And her next unbelievable response was "not water. I'll give you a minute to think of something else" and then she scoffed/laughed and walked away. My friend went to the bar to let her know that it's illegal to deny someone water or try to force them to drink alcohol/buy water. She ended up getting the waters, but told us that her if her manager came to us that we had to reassure him that we would be ordering drinks…..like….no. Why does a group of 7 who are going to be ordering a decent amount of food and drinks over a period of 4 hours have to reassure anyone of anything.
Our last friend hadn't arrived yet, but we let the server know that we were waiting on him and it seemed to be no problem. Before the game even started, the manager kept trying to take the chair and I said someone is actually sitting here and he'll be here soon. he literally snapped and said "he has 5 minutes to get here otherwise I'm taking the chair." not sure if this was a joke but I don't see how it could be since he seemed really serious and he's never met us before so we aren't really on joking terms...
Horrible dining experience. Lost...

Read morei love chucks!!! the food, the servers, the specials during leafs games. i've never had a bad meal BUT ...the manager ANDREW is horrible and he has ruined the atmosphere on more than one occasion!! As a trained professional and an observer of human behaviour, i can confidently say that the general Manager ANDREW has some serious issues!!!! i have eaten there on a weekly basis since their opening but what is quite clear is that all these favourable reviews that mention "andrew" being so wonderful are obviously written by HIM!!! and it disgusts me that he is "tooting his own horn" with his overly ambitious perceptions of his own reality....he is a jerk!!! he is a tyrant and full of himself.... my first encounter with him was as he stood outside, smoking a cig with some buddies...he was rude and obnoxious in his words as he spoke about a staff member. (at first i thought he was an angry customer until i realized he was the actual manager of the establishment) ever since then i have watched him in action berate his employees with absolutely no consideration for their feelings. after all, they are human and he doesn't treat them with an ounce of compassion or respect!!! i have overheard him referring to female patrons as "MILFs" and other inappropriate comments that are not professional by any means. i have heard him tell his staff to "get their sh*t together" or witnessed him "rolling his eyes" at a young staff member. I've overheard him talking to other employees about the "wrongs" of his staff team and then giving a fake smile and "high five" to the one he just criticized. the man has no boundaries and has no clue of how to manage a restaurant. i am really hoping that someone in upper management reads this and sends in spy diners to catch him in action as obviously my words, and my words only.... will not change a thing for those poor employees.... i encourage any customers who have had similar experiences or witnessed his poor social skills and bad management, speak up...
