The food looked great—beautiful presentation, very aesthetically pleasing—but unfortunately, it tasted pretty bland. I was expecting a lot more, especially given the upscale vibe the restaurant is clearly trying to portray. The side tasting dishes were a nice idea and offered some variety, but overall the flavors just fell flat. Even worse, most of the food came out lukewarm, and this was on a quiet night with only a few tables filled.
The ambiance was also off. The space is really small and very loud, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. The tables are tiny—way too small for the large serving platters they use, so it felt cramped and awkward.
On top of that, the service and menu were disappointing. When I ordered a drink, I was told it wasn’t available. Then I was told they had no tuna—on a Friday night, at a sushi restaurant? That just doesn’t make sense. we had to have them explain the menu to us and even then they didn’t mention till we ordered stuff was sold out.
The drink menu doesn’t list any ingredients, and when I asked about what was actually in the cocktails (like what type of alcohol they used), my server didn’t know and had to get someone else. Even then, the senior staff couldn’t give a clear answer. One drink was literally just called “Eyeball.” Is it gin? Soju? Tequila? Who knows. My cocktail was awful, I’m not sure what it was (as no descriptors), but it one didn’t taste like any alcohol in there, and tasted like grape medicine (raspberry fizz, but no rad berry taste). The straw it came with also was disintegrating before the meal was done. My friends drink was also not good (bees knees).
Lastly, the actual menu was different from what’s listed online, several items weren’t available, the layout was strange (ex: not saying if the sushi came with sides or any description on sauce) and prices were noticeably higher in person.
Overall, I wouldn’t return. Between the underwhelming food, bad drinks, strange atmosphere, and lack of transparency, it just wasn’t a...

I heard that their jjambbong was good, so I was craving it, but the staff said they didn’t have it. I asked if it was discontinued or just unavailable for the day, but they said they didn’t know.
I was really looking forward to the food, but it was disappointing. The shrimp dim sum was tasty but overly salty and intense in flavor. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish since it’s been a few weeks, but the teppan katsu was the worst. Cooking it with butter made the butter aroma overpowering, completely masking the taste and scent of the meat. The meat itself was tough and flavorless, as if they were trying to cover up the poor quality with butter. I’ve had similar dishes in Korea and Japan, where the meat was always tender and practically melted in my mouth. However, the meat here was so tough that it was difficult to eat.
If the food had just been bad, I wouldn’t have bothered leaving a review. However, during our meal, a man who seemed to be the manager was refilling our water, while a female server came by to clear the empty plates. Right in front of customers, he questioned why she was taking the dishes away while he was pouring water. It felt like he assumed we wouldn’t understand. We honestly didn’t see anything wrong with what she did—clearing the plates didn’t bother us at all.
The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, but the tables were small and the seating felt cramped. I came here hoping to treat someone to a nice meal, but we were both really disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be...
Read moreI’ve been eyeing this restaurant for quite a while and finally came to dine for a birthday celebration. I had really high expectations and while they’re not bad, I think I hyped myself up too much.
First thing you notice on the menu is there’s a lot of white masking tape covering up certain items. For example, they no longer offer dessert with the set meals so the word dessert is covered in multiple places. Or two of the four grill mains are now not available, again, covered with masking tape. But this is not reflected on the website. Wouldn’t it be better to just printed off new menus? Also, the night we were there, they didn’t have bluefin tuna, so the tartare is made with albacore yet the price remains the same which imo is unacceptable. We didn’t order it.
The food was mostly decent. Appies were innovative and tasted great, though the sashimi portion was tiny and not priced well at $48 (16 thin slices). The mains (AAA katsu) was tasty and generous portion! The desserts were disappointing - lemon and rose - both are the exact same mousse cake. I expected two totally different desserts but there really wasn’t much difference between the two of them other than the appearance. ETA - I stumbled upon a bakery which I believe bul purchases their dessert from so the dessert review does not reflect on the restaurant’s food quality but still wanted to leave it on as an fyi.
Service was good, the ambience was nice but I for some reason felt the overall experience was a bit lacking. I’d still go back but hopefully they have changed up their menus (in a good and more...
