Calgary Hot Plate Restaurant & Sweets — Restaurant in Calgary

This is a revised version of the original hot plate of Calgary. A smaller mostly take home oriented outfit but it has the same warmth, hospitality and tasty food. We ordered Chapli Kababs, Paneer Paratha, Big Kabab Platter and Chicken Biryani for a group of 4 here who needed to sit in a quiet place for a slow meal discussing some business relationships. It was a pleasant experience with owner himself hosting us at a request to open the place earlier. We had two guests from Edmonton and Vancouver on business trip. They thoroughly enjoyed the food especially the Kababs & Biryani. The Paneer Paratha comes in two versions - one with wheat base slightly fibrous on feel and other with fluor base which is softer on feel. Buttered up well it was just amazing. The Chapli Kabab here is out of this world tasty. And lastly the two Chefs and owners are superbly attentive to make you feel you are at home when sitting here and eating. Truly feels like you are at home, at ease and relaxed. I would highly recommend you to visit and take out or sit in to dine here some of the best Indian Muslim food - Get Your Hotplate Today....

The place is a great find and economical. Portions are so much more than most places. Beyond generous. Food taste was great. Tried Dum Biryani, Malai Tikka, Butter Chicken, Leg/Chest BBQ and Kheer. I would recommend Butter Chicken and Malai Tikka personally and kheer. You can try other stuff from the reviews. Kids were all over the butter chicken. One of the primary reasons to eat from the place is food taste. No place has 4.9 rating and over 300 reviews in Calgary. I guess the food is the first reason to eat. Second is the hospitality. Third is price.

The place is the size of a small deli. Space is a bit constrained which no review mentioned. Some may call it cozy. There are 3 tables of 4 chairs and 1 table of two chairs. Atmosphere can be felt constraining due to small space.

There are 3 parkings in front: 1 designated, 2 undesignated in the middle. Due to limited parking and space I would suggets parking nearby if you cannot find a lot and I would recommend taking out. Owner is friendly. A great find for take-outs! Those used to Delis or Dhabas can have...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Hidden Gem in Calgary!

I don’t even have the words to describe how impressed and happy I am after visiting this restaurant. What an absolute gem! The food was incredible — every single dish we ordered was packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and served in very generous portions. Honestly, I’ve never seen this much quantity for such a reasonable price.

We had the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, biryani, kebabs, and naan — and wow! Everything was absolutely amazing. The naan alone was huge and worth the price on its own. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, the tikka masala had just the right spice, the biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the kebab was juicy and delicious.

On top of all that, the owner and staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The prices were far less than what I’ve paid at other places in Calgary, and the quality and portion size were beyond expectations.

This place is truly a hidden treasure. I’m so glad I found it, and I’ll definitely be coming back regularly. Highly recommend!
