Chopped Leaf — Restaurant in Calgary

Very inconsistent service. The food is usually good; expensive, but worth it. I work in the area so I eat out almost every day. I eat at chopped leaf 2 or 3 times a week.

My last experience was so bad I will not be returning.

I went to order and the lady at the front was chatting with her friend. I waited 5 mins before I could order. After this I waiting for about 20 mins before I got my food. Didn't make any sense since there was only the chatty friend in front of me. Once she got her food, I got mine right afterwards. That made me upset because I'm sure my order was just sitting there waiting for them to finish talking.

I went back to work and realized it was bowl No 2 which I dislike. I know I dislike it because they did this to me before but I just ate it. this time, I wasn't settling for a wrong order. I called back and the response I got was "no problem, ill give you a refund". No apologies or anything. I asked if they could have the proper one ready when I got back to exchange.

Finally got back after dealing with the chaotic parking lot. They had my order ready! It was, again, bowl No 2. He then made me the right one within 2 MINS! Why on earth did I wait 20 before? I looked at it and it was just thrown together and very sloppy. Not worth almost $13.

I really love the food at chopped, very healthy and tasty. I do have some problems with chopped as of late. The staff with few exceptions are very unprofessional. I find the music is just way too loud, I do not need to listen to Brittany Spears at max levels while I'm eating and trying to have a conversation with a friend, the music is obnoxious.The tables are always dirty, I try to not sit and eat there for I do not like to stare at dirty dishes on the table besides me when Chopped is empty. Every time I order a drink they ALWASY forget to bring it to me. They have mistaken my order several times which is frustrating, they do not listen. Lots of the dishes have rice, I went one day and they told me I could not have a rice dish because they ran out of rice...Sobey's is right across the street. There should be no excuse to run out of rice, especially when they have various rice dishes. I really hate to write a bad review because I do love the food, it just seems as of late the staff is lacking professionalism and social skills. My son and his wife and myself went to chopped leaf tonight. First the tables were dirty and no clean place to sit for 3 of us. Next my daughter on law asked for a salad without cucumbers. We all noticed the server was taking out cucumbers with his fingers when he realized his mistake. She said no cucumbers specifically when she ordered. My son told server to make the salad again. Server only put a glove on after he was told to by my son and he only put one glove one. Server said we only put them on for the wraps . Please have your servers use gloves to make food. I ordered tea and this was no milk or cream for my tea. What restaurant that sells tea does not have milk or cream?? My son and daughter in law were so hungry they ate their food but did not feel good knowing a server had previously used his hands to take item out. Glad we were watching them make the food.
