Since this hasn't been talked about a bunch, I feel like it's important to talk about their waitlist.
Despite what the web page says, there is no take-out unless it's out of patio season, so the only option is to dine-in so knowing how to navigate the waitlist is critical so that you can actually eath there.
You have to go to their website to register for the waitlist. Once you register, you'll get a text with an ETA, but you want to keep checking the link that they send you because that's a more accurate time frame of when you'll get seated. This is where our party ran into trouble, because we thought the ETA would be representative of when we would get served, but our spot became available well more than an hour earlier than we expected and we lost our spot because we were in a different part of town.
We re-registered on the waitlist and monitored the link, and found that the timer for the next group "in-line" was a better predictor of when our turn was up, and even then we came early just in case and found they had spots available for us in a few short minutes.
So to say the very least, getting seats at the restaurant is a tedious process and you have to plan your evening around it, otherwise you might get caught elsewhere in the city with little time to make your spot.
Thankfully, this was the only hangup we had for our experience, as the food and service was fantastic. I feel like they could have been more generous on the Coney Sauce for the burgers, but I have absolutely no complaints about the Super Duper Fries. Easily the highlight of our meal and is a must-have for your first time there.
Your mileage may vary with the atmosphere. I personally loved the mid-century modern aesthetic of the restaurant but if you're not a big fan of the colour brown, I hope you can tolerate it for at least 45 minutes! đ
Now that we're familiar with how to get seated here, I expect we'll have an easier time around next time, but I can't help but feel there's an easier system to be had where guests don't have to micro-manage their day just so that they can get...
Read moreClass Clown Hamburgers is an exceptional spot for comfort food lovers, offering hearty meals that truly satisfy. Their burgers are the star of the showâjuicy, flavorful, and perfectly greasy in the best way possible. The grease doesnât overwhelm but rather enhances the richness of the experience, making each bite indulgently delicious. If youâre craving a classic, satisfying burger that hits all the right notes, this is the place to go.
The Coney Fries are another standout item, and theyâre worth every bit of the praise they receive. Topped generously and cooked to crispy perfection, they have the ideal balance of flavor and texture. Whether youâre a fan of loaded fries or just want something substantial to complement your meal, these are an absolute must-order. Pair them with a pop of your choice, and youâve got yourself a wonderfully hearty meal that leaves you feeling full and content.
Despite the fantastic food, there are a couple of aspects that could be potential drawbacks for some diners. The space at Class Clown Burger is on the smaller side, which can feel a bit cramped, especially during busy times. Itâs not the place for a large group or if youâre looking for a lot of elbow room. That said, the cozy atmosphere adds a certain charm to the experience, creating a welcoming vibe that feels comfortable and relaxed.
Another point worth noting is the price. While the quality and portion sizes justify the cost for many, it might seem slightly on the pricier side compared to other burger joints. However, considering the taste and overall experience, most would agree that itâs well worth it.
Ultimately, Class Clown offers a memorable dining experience that balances delicious, hearty food with a laid-back, cozy ambiance. Itâs the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy a great meal, and indulge in some of the best burgers and fries in town. Whether youâre a first-timer or a repeat visitor, itâs easy to see why this spot is a favorite for comfort food enthusiasts. Highly...
Read moreClass Clown Burgers used to be my favourite place to eat. I would rave about it to everyone. Iâve always appreciated their fun atmosphere, delicious burgers, and how accommodating theyâve been with gluten-free options in the past. Unfortunately, todayâs experience has left me extremely disappointed⌠and sick. We waited over an hour just to be seated. Once we finally got a table and placed our order, it took another 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I ordered the Donald McRonald on a gluten-free bun (as I always do), and my friend got the California Classic. We also shared the Coney fries. To my surprise, after waiting so long to be seated, I was told they had run out of gluten-free buns. I know these things happen, but after such a long wait, I think itâs reasonable to be upset that I didnât get to enjoy the one thing I was looking forward to all week. I was offered a lettuce wrap instead - not ideal, but I didnât have much of a choice at that point. What I received wasnât even a proper lettuce wrap⌠just a patty with toppings thrown on top of shredded lettuce. It was messy, unappetizing, and not what I came for. The Coney fries tasted stale, and to make matters worse, our waitress didnât check on us even once after dropping off the food. She was refilling water and checking in on tables around us, but we were completely overlooked. The worst part? My friend and I both got home with severe stomach pain and what feels like food poisoning. This was the only meal we shared all day, and weâre both feeling the same symptoms. I rarely ever write negative reviews, but todayâs experience was genuinely upsetting. Itâs heartbreaking to say this about a place I used to love, but I wonât be returning...
