Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Calgary

Been going here for 20 years and after tonight won’t return. Went in and ordered 4 blizzards off of a polite young guy who was obviously in training and trying his best.

From the minute we entered all you could hear was the 2 loud abrasive young ladies ( I use that term loosely ) running their mouths being obnoxious and obviously forgetting there were customers in the place.

So as I said we ordered from the young gent and then after paying realized we asked for the wrong size ( med instead of large ) o asked to pay the difference as he hadn’t started them yet … he asked the one girl and she says loudly and rudely “ they gotta wait” …. The gent said can I just upgrade it And then the other who was apparently the supervisor says to the young guy “ no that’s a huge difference “ rudely “ they have to wait !”

Zero customer service zero concern on how anyone in the place perceived them … I said well tell you what I’ll take a refund … well you still have to wait in the supervisor was her reply …??!!! The young man apologized

So we did h get the refund and we left and went to spend the money at the market mall location who was only too pleased at 5 min to closing to take the $40 and was polite and kind.

Sad that this location has been left to rude kids like this

I’m pretty sure that this is my first ever review but I really felt like I had to share my experience here. I got here at around 7:15 at night after finishing my shift at shouldice aquatic center and came right over to come and get dinner. It looked like they were cleaning out teaching a new employee how to clean. The older woman with the red hair immediately came to take my order. I sat down and literally 3 minutes later she came out with it. At the time I was sitting at a small two person table because it was just me eating there and it wasn’t very busy (one other table) and I didn’t feel like making a big mess at the table while they were obviously cleaning. When she walked over, she joked about if I could find a smaller table and then instructed me to come sit at the booth and to “ really lounge out”. I don’t think I have ever had this type of positive reaction in any other restaurant or with any other server, hence this being my first review. I ordered the bacon two cheese deluxe which was incredible and made it a combo and got fries and a drink. The fries were quite hot to begin with however when I finished my burger, they were at the perfect temperature, and I even got some really long ones. Overall incredible experience and would definitely recommend...

Excellent little fast food joint and a definite staple of the Montgomery area. The staff are surprisingly friendly and personable, happy to chat with you before, during, and after you place your order (if they're not busy doing something else, of course!). If there's a mistake in your order they're quick to fix things with a ready apology - no fuss, no complaining, just fixed and on we go.

Considering the location's age, it's very well maintained - clean and tidy - though the soda fountain was leaking water (maybe?) the last time I was there.

They offer the full menu, including Orange Julius items, though several ice cream treats seemed to be sold out on that last visit, a testament to how busy it gets. The food is hot and freshly made, which means it takes a little time before it gets to you, but it's absolutely worth the wait. These are some of my favorite fast food burgers, especially the plain 2 for $5 burgers. Cheap and delicious with that grill flavour! Could use a bit more burger compared to the bun though ;)

My biggest concern was the lack of traffic management: we're still under COVID restrictions and there were way too many people allowed inside for safety's sake.
