One of my favourite cocktail bars. Have told everyone since my first time there that although the cocktails were pricey, they were some of the best I have had so it was worthwhile. Until recently I told everyone they had the best French 75 in the city as they used Empress gin and added that at the table for a bit of flare as it changed the colour of the drink as they poured it in. They have recently stopped doing this as it was on the classy hour menu and said it was too costly. But rarely do ppl come for happy hour and not stay and drink at least one other drink (at $18+) and I won’t be raving about the french 75 anymore.
The one thing I have always thought could be improved is their food selection. Just about every other high end restaurant / cocktail bar has fantastic appetizers, but I have been very underwhelmed. Considering they are in the same building and have the same management as the pizza place and high end Italian restaurant it is a huge missed opportunity to get ppl to stay and have some small but...
Read moreWe visited Fleet Wood on Friday evening for a friend gathering and some relaxation. To my surprise, I received birthday congratulations and gifts from my friends. As we ordered some drinks, Mr. Omid, the manager of Fleetwood, kindly presented me with a bottle of champagne. Mr. Omid is a charming and friendly Persian man. Such exceptional service is a rarity in Calgary's bars and restaurants, making it easy for me to give it a 5-star rating. Apart from that, the service was outstanding. Our server checked on us every 15 minutes and promptly answered our questions about food and drinks. She displayed great politeness and attentiveness. We also ordered some food from the pizza store next to Fleetwood, which turned out to be delicious. The cocktails were superbly crafted, and the bar had a friendly and cozy ambiance, especially the comfortable and soft chairs. Additionally, underground parking is complimentary for bar customers. Fleet Wood is now on our list of favorite bars, and we will definitely...
Read moreI was in town with my husband and my friend suggested this lounge, the first thing entering the place is that it smelled like someone puked from alcohol hangover, probably Cos of the rug, it took half an hour for the waitress to locate us with the water we ordered when we first came in, another waitress showed up with the water and took the drink order but has no knowledge about the non alcoholic cocktail, we place order for 4 different appetizers, the order took forever, the pizza bread came in cold and super dry, the only thing I liked about the order was the Brussels sprouts, no waitress came to check on us to see if we needed anything, it was difficult trying to flag the blonde waitress that sat us to get our bill, I had to walk to the bar to get my bill, mind you this is not a busy Saturday, table that was seated was just 4 groups, why I’m giving it 2 star is just for the music that was played while I was there, other than that service was nothing to write home about, they all...
