Let me start by saying that the food was fantastic. The service sucked. Despite telling the server at the entry that we had a reservation, she didn't bother asking for a name. It took them 25 minutes to provide menus. The menus looked disgusting, with hairs stuck in between the transparencies. The server comes to take drink orders, and the most surreal conversation happened. Let mw say here, that I have exchanged IG comments with their official account, as we're both into wine. I asked for the wine list. She said "there's no wine list". I asked what's their house wines. She replied by asking me if we wanted wine. I asked for price list. She said "$49 and up". I said whatever. We ordered. It took an hour. Meanwhile, a couple beside us came after us and they were already being served food. The manager came by. I asked him about wine. He avoided telling what effing wine he had open. His answer was condesending and downright rude. He said "don't worry, I know wine". GUESS WHAT, SO DO I! We had asked to add some tofu to our vegetable dish. It was forgotten. When he came back we reminded him, but I said it's too late now, as we had almost finished our meal. He shows up three minutes later and tosses a small saucer with a few cubes of tofu and says "here you are". Again, body language like we don't deserve to be there. And tjen of course we heard the excuse that it's the customers' fault for all showing up at the same time. In conclusion, the service made my companion's birthday dinner a "let's get it over with" experience, therefore won't...
Read moreLet me start with the good. The ambiance of this place is very nice, looks like a very relaxing place and the vibes are great. The server was very attentive and kind too. Oh and the Thai Ice Tea tastes great as well!
Now for the "not-so-good": The chef messed up my roti, pretty bad. I ordered a roti with ice cream on top; what I got is the roti "bread" with no banana nor condensed milk, just ice cream "inside"!!! I don't know how the chef could have possibly thought that I'd like the banana and condensed milk replaced with ice cream, but it was terrible. I was surprised at the end to see that the bill says: $8 for roti and $5 for ice cream... Like that terrible mess of an icecream ball inside fried bread actually cost me $13.
The cashew chicken was also too spicy, even though the menu only shows one 🌶️; cashew chicken is one of my favorite dishes of all time and I never had it this spicy from any other restaurant before.
To be fair, my experience was ruined because of the roti mess up, if it were only for the spicy cashew chicken, I would have given it 5 stars and ordered "less spicy" cashew chicken next time. So I'm giving it 3...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I just stopped here for dinner after being turned away from another restaurant and im not upset in the slightest! To say they made our night after being disappointed is an under statement. We came in and were greeted with a smile right away, and offered a seat while we looked over the menu and made our choices. We were also offered water and a beverage. The restaurant has the authentic atmosphere with traditional artwork and bamboo sprawling all throughout the large dining room. The server gave us the perfect amount of time to take it all in and decide, took our orders and swiftly went on her way. The chef came out and had a chance to greet the guests while they were enjoying their dinner, and made sure everyone was satisfied. She came and greeted us and right after our food was delivered to our table and we were thanked for our order. Our food was amazing, i ordered the drunken noodles and my boyfriend ordered the papaya salad and crying tiger. They were full of flavour and fresh and spicy and just delicious. This was some of the best food I’ve eaten in Calgary. We are...
