Harvey's — Restaurant in Calgary

Not a fan of this location. The worker who was working last night wasn't the vibe. The workers tuesday night were better. Some of there cold drinks come in a "regular size" cup, so the smaller cups. Which is fine but they don't sit properly in the tray only the medium cups sit without falling over. 4 days prior they drinks fell over and spilled, the workers on tuesday had zero issues putting the regular cup size drinks inna bigger cup for me. Didn't question it, didn't give any attitude or say it's against policy. They were more than accommodating to me and understood what I was saying. The worker last night said she couldn't sell me bigger cups or put my drinks in bigger cups because it was against policy. She said any other worker should not be doing that for me either, that it's not allowed. I offered to pay for the cups... just the cups on there own and she refused to even sell me them.. because of policy. I wasn't asking for bigger drinks I was just wanting the cups so they didn't spill and fall all over. I went around 11:30 pm last night. Definitely avoid around that time if you don't wanna be met with sour attitudes...

The Harveys, like most lineup and order places can take a few minutes to get served, especially if you have someone who doesn't know what they want and take seemingly forever to make up their minds! Be patient, This is not the restaurants fault tho. This Harveys make a good burger and the staff were very cheerful and I was impressed with the servers patience with the customer in front of me. Better than I would be I guess. LOL She stayed civil and smiley and was quick to help. Prices are going up all the time due to our current economy so you have to think a bit more as you choose and I think that guy was doing just that. The prices are good for the situation we find ourselves in with the tax situation. The burger was perfectly cooked to my liking, the toppings and fries were fresh and good and tasty to eat! No complaints about the food, but the cleanliness of the restaurant and the customer service can be questionable. There are greasy hand prints on the walls and decorative art/signs that clearly have not been washed recently. I visted again a few days after I first noticed this and they still have not been cleaned (the same greasy finger prints are still there). Tables are not regularily washed between patrons (garbage/napkins left on unused tables) and there are often napkins squished between the seats and the walls. I hope the kitchen is kept to a cleaner standard than the dine-in seating. Regarding customer service, it's usually good but the manager seems not to thrilled when accepting coupons. I'm not sure if they don't get reimbursed for these coupon savings from the corporate office, but nevertheless it can create an unpleasant experience that I haven't experienced at other Harvey's locations.
