We came here last week as I heard good things from a friend. We were pretty disappointed with our over all meals, especially for the price tag attached. The appetizers were good, the cheese empanadas were yummy (although a bit pricey for the size) and the fries were also good.
I had an arepa which was $19 with no side included, my friend had thrice, beans & meat plate for $23. Over all both those were very bland and over priced for what it was. I’ve had arepas at some local food trucks that were amazing and super cheesy (which none of these had cheese) so to say I was disappointed would be an understatement.
Cute & very clean space which was a bonus. The server was nice but nothing to rave about. Unfortunately we probably won’t be back due to said things mentioned.
Edit to owners rude reply;
It’s interesting you can’t just take the feedback without being argumentative. But hey, people will read this and come to your restaurant due to your lack of customer service and will to understanding. For starters, salt doesn’t fix “bland” flavour. There was no option to add cheese that I saw, I also wasn’t aware you are catering only to gluten friendly / dairy free customers and not everyone. My complaint about prices are accurate because most places that serve sandwiches, burgers or any handheld food item does include a side. So you’re $19 price tag would be more appropriate with a side but alone it’s outrageous. I’ve worked in the food industry and in fact my father owns a food truck, so yes, I get it and I actually probably understand prices, food quality, service and over head more than most people. You talking down to me definitely isn’t helping your business. I’ve had cheaper & better food so yes, you are expensive whether you choose to accept that or not. Due to your reply I will most definitely not be back and definitely not recommend anyone in trying your place. Have also switched to a...
Read moreWe’ve been to Heaven restaurant a few times, and while we love the food, there’s always something that makes us question going back, so I figured it’s time to leave a review. The last time we dined in, it took over 40 minutes to get our food. We waited because we enjoy the food, but honestly, that’s a long wait for arepas. The arepas and yuca fries are our favorite, the food is pretty tasty and the service is good, just slow. However, the prices are pretty steep for what you get.
Today, we decided to order delivery. We tried to order “pick up” through the website and various food delivery apps, but it wasn’t an option, so we ended up paying for delivery. At the restaurant, you usually get some chips with your arepa, but with the delivery, we only got the arepas. The size of the arepas is ok, but a hungry person could easily eat two, and at over $20 each with no sides (which I believe is pretty high for what it is), you’re looking at more than $40 for two arepas. We ended up paying over $100 for five arepas, plus tax and delivery, which I believe is excessive. I don’t mind paying for a good meal, but this doesn’t feel worth the price. This will probably be the last time we eat there.
Edit: The prices on their website are $18.50 to $21 per arepa, which is just $1.50 to $2.85 cheaper than using the delivery app. So yeah, I know I paid a bit more for delivery, but it’s not a huge difference compared to picking it up or eating there. While I love supporting local businesses, I still believe prices are on the high end compared to what...
Read moreI am a very forgiving person and rarely write a bad review but in this case.... we went Heaven's and found Hell, it was understaffed and incompetent, unbelievably slow service, confused orders and wrong orders. There was only one waitress and one cook. The waitress took our orders then repeated them back to us to verify - she did her due diligence. We were a party of 8, two of our party received their meal 1 HOUR after everyone else. ONE HOUR! We informed the waitress many times and the response was "they are on the way". While we waited, 3 separate large Skip the Dishes orders came rushing out of the kitchen and even other tables that arrived after us were served. This tells me that there is a big problem in the kitchen! While we waited and waited. So much for caring about the customers currently in the restaurant.
We were also served wrong orders: cheese empanadas instead of chicken that had to be taken back, only to return with more cheese empanadas, to be returned - we have dairy allergies that we made clear to the waitress! Ordered multiple flavor Mini Empanadas and received cheese ones again instead of the 3 flavors we ordered. My wife ordered what we thought was butternut squash soup and we later found out she was served Hangover Soup instead. It was absolutely dreadful and even had a piece of plastic in it! This was the first time we ate Venezuelan food and did not know what to expect, we thought it was just the worst butternut squash soup! Instead it was a disgusting...
