Whiskey Rose is a charming location that truly shows how change in the food and drink industry can be positive.
I first came by the location a few weeks ago with the intention of meeting fellow business minded people. What I came out with was more than I had expected.
Mac runs the current Whiskey Rose location. And though he runs and manages the location, you can quickly see that he does it in a kind and open-minded way from the approach he and his staff present to their guests.
The location has great potential and incredible structural design. Sound travels very well in all the right ways. Even in the case that it could travel too much, Mac has a dream and an eye for making the potential become real.
When I spoke to Mac, I was caught off guard. He isn't just a friendly face with a managerial approach. He wants to bring something real to what he can do. A dream. A vision.
The food was incredible. Absolutely fantastic. The drink options and food options accommodate those with allergies to the best of their abilities, and the staff are wonderful in how much they desire to make a difference.
I told Mac that I needed to think about what to say, and finally I have the words.
Your desire to improve the business, the industry, and to move forward in the face of challenge is what a restaurant, pub, or dive truly needs.

Read moreWe came to this place with high expectations after receiving good recommendations. Our group was large (6 people). The restaurant was half-empty. It took about 10 minutes before anyone approached us at all — and only after what seemed to be the manager motioning to a server to come over. We had to ask for water ourselves, and even that took over 5 minutes because the waitress was standing at the bar chatting with someone.
We ordered a first round of drinks (which ended up being the only round), and again, the wait was very long. The gin tonic was terrible — there was no trace of alcohol in it, it felt like there was none at all.
After that kind of service and drinks, we decided to leave — everything about the experience was bad. We asked for the bill, and they silently handed us the machine without mentioning that a 20% tip was already included. Not knowing that, we left the minimum possible tip on the machine as well. Only later at home did we realize we had double-tipped, even though, to be honest, the service didn’t deserve even a single tip.
We were left with a very poor impression, especially because of the waitress’s careless attitude and the low-quality drinks.
P.S. It was one of the girls’ birthdays, and we just wanted to have a nice time and a few drinks to end the day — which only made the whole...
Read moreonly came because i won a giveaway and earned 500 dollars in gift cards or should i say gift certificates (but was mentioned as gift cards) to share among 10 people (we got them when we arrived at the bar) as i also got tickets to their boxing day celebration! Night was going well ordered some drinks were good except the pink spike lemonade for some reason it didn’t taste how it usually does but ok! food was good cant lie on that! so time comes to pay out of 10 people i bought five friends to share this with but when paying we find out we can only use one 100 dollar voucher per table? and we were like confused? so you expected us to have 10 people and only use 100 dollars worth of credit ??? that’s easily racking up 500 dollars! i’m so glad i only brought five people! you couldn’t have spilt and make another tab for another table? like split it? i’m sure there would have been a way, like sure we should have read the terms on the back of the certificate but from the wording from the emails sounded like it was a gift card to use any time. Ended of paying out of pocket which we weren’t expecting to do was a fun night which ended up being disappointing. They gave us a round of free shots but cmon it’s a lot of money spent when you weren’t...
