I cannot penalize this beautiful place with amazing food just because of one bad apple bartender but my experience was horrendous with him the rest of the staff were apologetic. He started off by insulting me when he asked where we're from and I said for McMurray. he said we won't hold that against you ...... actually buddy we are evacuated so thanks a lot jerk. This bartender's name is John.
He did no courtesy check at all on anything not the drinks not the food. When I asked for the bill he just looked at me and walked away. I gave it about 10 minutes my son even put up his hand to try and get his attention which I tried to explain to him that's not how you get a bartender's attention but apparently this is what this guy needed a big flag saying come check on us please...... so I stood up and patiently waited 8 minutes and 15 seconds until I asked another staff member if they would be able to take payment from me so I can get to my son's basketball tournament on time. Keep in mind this guy's making eye contact with me and choosing to ignore me he didn't even bother to say I'll be right with you give me a second absolutely nothing. Then the bartender has the lack of courage to be able to even face me but mutter under his breath a little busy here. Yeah you definitely were a really busy talking with that one customer on your bar dropping f-bombs every 30 seconds when I had a child with me. Looking in the cupboards for things you weren't even making a drink. He needs to be fired, he absolutely represented that business so horrific I feel horrible for the rest of the staff who seemed to all have the same sentiment as me his service skills are absolutely horrible. I've been in the industry for over 20 years and everybody knows, you do a courtesy check after the food is dropped off to a table this guy never even came to see how anything was and could not bring my bill after I requested it and then had a arrogant attitude.
Other than that location is beautiful food was...
Read moreI was not really sure how to rate this place - still on the fence about it.
The restaurant itself is super cute inside, it was very quiet when we arrived so I can't speak to the normal atmosphere but we enjoyed our time there. During our time, any staff we interacted with were friendly enough but nothing to write home about, drink orders were forgotten for a bit but not a huge deal, we were not in a hurry. The food itself was delicious, we enjoyed everything - the Watermelon salad, the Ahi Tuna Crudo, we got a half & half pizza (love that they offer this) and went half beef Bulgogi and half soy brown butter mushroom (which ended up being the fav). We of course also had the chicken, we did one order and got each of the sauces on the side to try (Honey Garlic Butter & Buldak were the clear favs in our group).
Now here is where I am torn - the cost vs. quantity. There is no doubt the food is high quality and we had no complaints about the flavors, but there were only 3 of us, we split what seemed like a decent amount of food when ordering, and our bill was significant, but.... we left hungry. The Tuna aside, as we agreed it was priced well for the portion and quality, everything else seemed a little, stingy I guess? It is obvious great care has gone into the menu and putting out the dishes, I can certainly appreciate that, but we have had similar fare at other places and not had the same empty feeling at the end. When you pay $1.50 each for the sauces on the side and after splitting it you each got maybe 3/4 of a chicken thigh, that's a little hard to swallow.
I would certainly return again if invited out there by friends or for an event, but not sure I would make way back otherwise. All the best to them in that location though, I know it's been through a few different venues and I hope they get...
Read moreAs a patron who lives in the area, I have supported Jinbar on several occasions. I am writing about their terrible pick-up service.
On three occasions, I have ordered online for pick-up. Every time, they have been close to 30 minutes over the scheduled time. The first two times, I was patient and never said anything. Third time, I gave them an extra half hour to get things ready. When I went in (already, 30 minutes past scheduled pick up), they said they just received my order and it would be another 20 minutes. At this point, I expressed my frustration to the waiter. I told him, never once in the previous times did they even apologize for lack or respect for people's time and it wasn't till I mentioned this, did the waiter then apologize. I mentioned, that this, being the third time, there should be some monetary compensation as a gesture of good faith and being a regular customer. When I came back 20 minutes later, I was given a box of chips. Like, potato chips. Not even sure it's a menu item? If it was, their cheapest item as compensation for not being organized on several occasions. No explanation, nothing. I had to ask about the monetary compensation and was told it was OpenTable's fault and there was nothing they could do. I mentioned there was something they could do, for example, in-store dining credit. Being a business, I am sure there was something they could do! But, nope, he just stared me in the soul and said, "No, sorry." Being in the area, I like to support local. I can't anymore. They have lost a customer; and the sad thing is, they didn't have to. In this day and age, when money is tight for people, this gesture of good faith would have went a long way. Restaurants seem to forget this. But, guess, they didn't need my money anyways. They got...
