I hate to leave a bad review because I love this place and food is always great but my experience here few days ago was just terrible. I came in with my friend during a lunch time for all you can eat special and we were served by Lisa who kept giving us attitude throughout our entire stay.
I ordered a bit more food than I anticipated we'd be able to finish so I asked our server Lisa if she could give us a to-go box and charge me extra for whatever leftover sushi I didn't eat (about 5 pieces of spicy salmon roll). She rolled her eyes and said "$7" and walked away. She took a while to return with boxes and in the meantime my appetite came back so I apologized and said I will in fact finish 5 remaining sushi rolls before we get our bill. She looked very annoyed and didn't say anything in return instead she just took the boxes and walked away. While I was chatting with my friend she kept hovering over us to make sure I eat the remaining food which we found extremely weird and uncomfortable. After I finished we asked for our bill and I noticed she tried to charge me 7$ more than what all you can eat price is on the menu so I asked what is the reason for that since we finished all our food and she claimed it's the tax. I told her that for a $23 bill the tax should not be that high and she rolled her eyes again and walked away with the machine. She came back with the correct bill and refused to tell me her name after I asked her, claiming she doesn't speak english. Note that prior to this she didn't seem to have any trouble understanding it or speaking it. At this point my friend and i were turned off by the whole experience and I found out her name from one of the other servers.
The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was good and the guy who served us before she took over was very kind...
Read moreUPDATE: just came back from another attempt at Fusion Sushi and this time, it was much, much better. We went on a Sunday night and it was busy enough still at 830. This time, they had iPads for us to submit our order on and it worked really well! There are pictures of everything and you click how many you want of each item and submit the order through the iPad and it is automatically sent to the kitchen. It worked so well. The only suggestion we would have is to add descriptions to each picture. Also the service was miles better this night. Our water was refilled and food was brought extremely quickly and delicious as always. The bill was also brought to our table and the dishes cleaned up rather quickly from our table. We ordered twice for the all you can eat through the iPad with little issue. Upgraded my original rating from 1 to a 4. We ordered coffee which was never brought and we had to ask for the bill, but still, we were very impressed tonight! Will try again another time for sure.
Terrible, terrible service. My husband and I have been twice to eat here and both times, the service was really awful. Once we put in our first order, both times, we never saw any server come back to offer refills on drinks or to take your second order for the all-you-can-eat. We also didn't get everything we ordered the first time. There seems to be plenty of servers milling around but they seem to just talk amongst themselves at the front or walk into the back all the time - we couldn't ever get anyone's attention, even to pay our bill at the end. Too bad because the food is good and it seems to be prepared very quickly. But we won't ever go back - it's not worth the annoyance to deal with such poor,...
Read moreFusion Sushi Ranchlands was a nice experience for a family Sunday dinner out together.
We enjoyed the variety in dishes and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
The sushi was fresh, however I found that they didn’t have your typical choices of California rolls or spicy salmon/tuna offered and nothing with roe, no usual rolls really. Even the teriyaki chicken and beef rolls are not usual with chunks of meat and rarely cooked beef instead of the usual fully cooked and thinly sliced teriyaki meat usually inside a cooked roll that we would order for our daughter. The Thai food offerings were okay. We were very surprised by the pineapple fried rice on the Thai menu, it had a lovey slight curry flavour along with cashews, raisins and of course pineapple AND shrimp! None of that is in the description so it was a great surprise when it came out. The peppered beef and stir fried shrimp was also very delicious from the Thai section on the menu.
We did find that the dessert section on the all you can eat menu was pretty lacking and the green tea ice cream wasn’t good at all. We liked the food but found the price to be a little bit too expensive for what it was. It cost $95 with tip for 2 adults to have the all you can eat and a green tea each as our two year old still qualifies for eating free.
All in all we did enjoy the food and would probably visit again to try...
