(shorten up: bugs, too sweet, nice staff, over-rated)
it is WAY too sweet. i did not expect the donuts to be this sweet. when you step into the door, one of the worker will give you a paper hat and guide you to a line depending on if you are getting just the original donut, or the assorted ones. the assorted donuts line is on the right, and the original donut line is on the left. it is fairly easy to tell which line you should be in.
the parking lot was a bit difficult to find because we took the wrong turn, however if you just follow the directions since there are paper board near the store with directions to the parking lot, it was also really easy to get to the parking lot. the parking lot itself as a lot of parking space, as well as a worker guiding the cars for drive through. it is very organized.
now moving on the the kitchen inside the store, it looks really clean and seems to be running very smoothly, however we noticed that there was few flies flying around the kitchen, and i caught one touching the donut in the video. if you look at my review, i take having bugs in food VERY seriously.🚨this really made me lose my appetite and wondered how many flies have touched the donuts that are on the display.❗️please make sure that there are no flies or any bugs in the kitchen❗️i mean who would want a donut that was touched by flies right?
talking about donuts, these donuts are WAY more SWEETER than crumbls. i personally HATE donuts as they give me bad stomachache, but i wanted to give this new donut place a try since it was really hyped up, and my friends and siblings also wanted to try it out. however i will not be going back here as its very overhyped and the flavour is too sweet, like over-sweetened. the donut itself felt like it was UNDERCOOKED, because it was chewy as in not cooked chewy. i could feel the raw dough when i was biting into it.
the staff members are really friendly, the cashier seemed like she was VERY stressed as there were a lot of people, which i understand but she still put on a smile and treated all the customers very nicely.
overall, i will not be coming back to this place, not because of the flies, but because it is way too sweet for my...
Read moreI’ve been here twice…this month lol!
Once on a weekend and then again today (Tuesday at about 1130am)
The drive-through on weekend is very hard to get in
They have security guards that guide you because you have to go around near mcloud to line up.
I don’t know how long that takes as I went inside, and I don’t know if this also happens on weekdays, as I also went inside for my second visit
The express line is very much worth it if you’re OK with original or not choosing your own donuts and getting a pre-determined dozen instead
The original is VERY good though so I personally don’t care
Price: 30 for 2 dozen 16 for a single dozen
Taste: 20/10 the donuts are soft and pillowy with a slight crunch/crisp from the glaze
I also got the original iced coffee both times and both times I thought it was pretty good
Parking: depends on the day, it was a lot harder on the weekend
Drive through: I think me going inside both times says enough, but watching the lineup on a weekday, it looks like it was just as busy and there were still security guards guiding traffic
I’ll be completely honest on a weekday. I’m going to say that the indoor lineup express lane wins it for speed, I was in and out in 5 min, but I think that was also some luck as the express line was completely empty today (about 10-20min on the weekend)
Staff are friendly, and it’s VERY cool to watch how they literally make the doughnuts through glass windows
20/10 for that alone (better then most INDOOR lineup experiences)
And yes, I did get my full dozen of donuts, but I couldn’t help eating a few before I...
Read moreI went here for the first time after a long time of the first location in Calgary being permanently closed. It was nice seeing another Krispy Kreme open in Calgary. I went with my family around 7:00-7:30pm. I was excited to try the different variety of donuts. Once we got inside, the atmosphere was nice but quite busy. However, the line seemed to go pretty quickly. Time also went faster as you could see the detailed production behind alot of the delicious donuts they sell.
It was a good experience. However, I was not too fond of the Original Krispy Kreme donut although I thought it would have been my favourite. The glaze on it had a weird aftertaste and was just way too thick. It was hard to enjoy the donut as all you could taste was a dry rock sugar. You could even see how thick it was on the donut itself, and on the bottom of the donut glaze machine. It was just not an appealing taste to be honest. Kinda sucks seeing it’s one of the staple donuts to try, especially if it’s your first time or if you have tried Krispy Kreme before and know what it is supposed to taste like. Not sure if it’s the day it was made or if the recipe changed?
Aside from that needing to be improved, I had other favourites. If I could recommend a top donut to try, it would definitely be the Chocolate Iced, as it was a lot more enjoyable than the original. It had a nice balance of the icing and donut itself, and was not overly sweet. This is what I came to...
