La Cantina — Restaurant in Calgary

What an evening!!! Saturday night in the middle of a blizzard had my Wife’s 65th Surprise Birthday Party at La Cantina!!! Most sane diners had cancelled their Rezo’s and our party of 12 all showed up to celebrate!

Had planned everything in advance with John to have appy’s and Prosecco on the table for the earlier arriving family and one large table to accommodate everyone! Everything went flawlessly and we were all treated like special guests to a family affair!

Appy’s included La Cantina Antipasto basically a charcuterie combo, Beef & Pork Polpette, and warm olives and crostini’s, followed by shared Insalata for the table! A special pizza for our Grand Boys and then the rest of us ordered our Mains; Beef Short Ribs, Chicken Parm, Seafood dish, Octopus, Veal all with two sides!

We enjoyed wonderful service and a leisurely timed meal with great wine; after the Cheers with the Prosecco we enjoyed a bottle of the Pinot Noir and a second of Sangiovese; tasty amazing Italian dishes, and a chance for the Grand Kids to try out the Bocce lanes … who could ask for anything more???

Well … We then had a beautiful Birthday Cake! A Bavarian Crème Cake delivered with candles and a Happy Birthday song and then individually served!!!

I recently visited La Cantina in Calgary, drawn in by the buzz of locals praising its vibrant menu and cozy atmosphere… From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance promised an experience that goes beyond the plate… I started my meal with a lineup of appetizers that were nothing short of scrumptious… Each bite was a perfect teaser, so flavorful and enticing that I found myself tempted to forgo the rest of the menu and just indulge in more starters… But I stayed focused and ordered my all-time favorite: the Chicken Parmesan… The Chicken Parmesan was cooked to perfection, the chicken itself was juicy and tender, while the blend of cheese and sauce struck an ideal balance, creating a dish that was rich without being overpowering… Alongside it, the Caesar Salad was a standout with its crisp, fresh lettuce, a generous helping of shaved Parmesan, and just the right amount of croutons… A squeeze from a large, fresh lemon brought it all together beautifully… I was so immersed in the flavors and overall experience that I could barely keep up with the conversation at the table… Every element of the meal left me impressed and delighted… La Cantina didn’t just serve food, it offered a memorable experience…. I’ll absolutely be returning to enjoy it all...

Been here over the years but this visit stood out. First want to say Arianne was amazing. She was on top of it with all our drinks, accommodated little things with the kids and was genuinely very pleasant. We weren’t an easy table having 13+ people plus small kids but she did great.

Food was pretty good. Came out fairly quick for being busy and being a big table. Would definitely order the appetizers and main courses again.

The space is really good, especially for families. Our little ones were entertained and the staff did a great job at making us feel comfortable and accommodated the kids.

Great space to have bigger dinners or private parties and definitely a good spot to have kids at.
