Made a reservation for NYE on Sunday, Dec. 28 Arrived 10 minutes early to find our reservation was not recorded. Hostess was not incredibly helpful, kept showing me tablet and asking if my name was there. "No, I am not Adnan." I feel that if I had not asked for manager she would have just blown us off. Also informed it was a set menu. Informed us that we were told that when making the reservation. Nope. Manager very helpful(?). Gave us a 4 seater for the 5 of us that had been reserved for someone else at 6:30 (it was 5 so that gave us 90 minutes). Menu had some good selections. 3 courses for $55. Apparently it also included champagne but we were not informed of that until our dessert arrived. Might have changed our drink choices if we were told upfront. Group of six at the table next to us left when they saw the set menu so we were able to add to our seating which made it more comfortable. 4 of 5 appies arrived quickly. Mine took an extra 10 minutes to show up. I had my appie for literally 2 minutes when dinner showed up for all of us. Appetizers had not been cleared for any of us and they were laying down dinner plates. Plates were plentiful and the food was tasty. Dessert was delicious and I was offered an option off the regular menu when neither of the set menu items were nut-free. However, that was only after I pointed out that I was paying for dessert and should be provided an option. We were given a 10 dollar discount for the appie wait. Upon departing (after paying roughly 350 bucks with tip) I overheard the hostess tell someone that the regular menu was available in the lounge. That would have been good to know from the start.
Positives - plates had an abundance of food and very tasty. Staff did their best to accommodate. Our server, Holly, was lovely. Issues - communication right from the time the reservation was made. Obviously the person on the phone didn't record it properly and didn't provide pertinent information. While accommodating it was only after I pushed for a bit of problem solving on their part. Staff seemed a little frantic and disorganized (restaurant was not full and there were no people waiting to be seated).
Not a hideous experience but certainly not the best...
Read moreHaving reviewed several restaurants recently that deserved 5 star ratings, I had to lower my expectations after my first time here. There has been a change in ownership so that might account for the difference from other Milestones locations I have visited in the past. The food is adequate but not stellar. The service was good but not outstanding. Therefore this place merits a 3 Star rating which is average (neither great or horrible).
It was not super busy but it took some time before our meals arrived. The manager must have noticed this because we were offered free deserts to compensate for the delay. We didn't expect this courtesy so I would have given a higher rating based on the service but, ironically, the deserts took even longer to arrive. This was baffling because most deserts are prepared in advance and just need to be plated and served.
With regards to the meal, I had the Portobello Mushroom Chicken with Spaghetti and immediately realized that my tastebuds have been spoiled by going to some nice family owned Italian restaurants who do a much better job. I do understand this place is owned by a chain so their food items are products that must meet a consistent standard.
To be fair, customer service depends on the personalities of individual servers so it can vary from time to time. This review is based solely on one experience so please look at the rating based on the average of multiple reviews when deciding whether or not to try this location of Milestones. I see that some people have had great experiences and others not so much. Also, there may be other items on the menu that are better but I'm not sure I will return as there are so many great dining options...
Read more1 / 10. Terrible. This happened approx. 3 years ago, and I still cringe at the thought of it. The only reason this review receives a 1 instead of 0 is because they have one dish that is delicious (Portobello Mushroom Chicken - always solid).
I had a family member visiting me from out of Province, and chose this Milestones location to eat at along with my girlfriend and her mom. After ordering a round of drinks we waited approx 10 minutes before being served. The waiter approached the table, tripped, and spilled an entire glass of white wine down the front of my shirt and pants. I was covered in wine. This, although very upsetting was something I could deal with. I had already ordered my food and was starving so I was going to push through and ignore my new fragrant scent.
Here's where things go from bad, to brutal. It took over 60 minutes for the mains to come out. For approx. 50 minutes I sat in my chair soaking and uncomfortable, trying to make conversation while steeping in a glass of chardonnay. Once we finished our meals I quickly asked for the bill and received only 1 free glass of wine for my troubles (Really?! How do you not comp the meal after this?).
I went back to the restaurant the next day after I showered off my Grandma's 12oz glass of vino. I asked for the manager (Female, brown hair), and described my experience from the previous evening..... She, word for word told me "Why would we give you refund you already said you'll never eat here again".
This was by far, the single worst dining experience I have ever had.
**Full disclosure the Portobello Mushroom Chicken is delicious with a large...
