Mucho Burrito Fresh Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Calgary

They erase my previous comment, I worked there in April 2023 to august 2023, i came from mexico because they promise me to be a manager. They treat me like i was the worst worker ever, they always told me that everything i was doing was wrong, they treat me like the cleaning one. In my contract i was supposed to be paid 18 50 but they told they dont do that so they paid me 15 and i have to give back $3.64 dollars( incluiding my vacations) per hour work, the owners were keeping all the tips, they received around 2,000 dollars for tips per month and they keep everything. They dont pay the hollidays, and sometimes i was working 12 hours a day. You will go on a saturday and see the same girl from 10:30 am to 10:30 pm and no extra pay. I was in an abussive environment so scared to talk, and the money was not enough. The contract said that u need to work 35 to 40 hours, they never give you that but on the check they put those hours to be "on the law" and you have to give back the money. They fire a girl that stood up for her rights.I did my legal process with them and i paid for everything i quit because i didnt have more money to pay my rent and food. And if i wanted to continue for my PR they would charge $10,000 cad because they are helping you to be a resident. Somebody did a complaint in the goverment of canada and they investigate them, for months they were telling us what to say and when finally i was going to talk to the goverment they call me on the restaurant to received the call and they stay infront me to listen everything what i was saying. This is just a little bit of the experience. Every girl is scared to talk. And im doing this because nobody do anything with this location they are so abussive. And for the record the months i was there they paid me 18.50 on my check and because they were under investigation they didnt ask me the money back so when they ask i didnt have it because i used to pay my basics so i decide to quit because i knew it was not going to work, when i quit the first thing they told me was , And are you going to give us back the money right?the 3.64 cad per hour i work. Is that insane? And i worked till august 30, from august 27 to august 30 i didnt received my pay. They totally should close this restaurant and as a person that used to work there i dont recommend eating there they recycle the food and they dont have appropiate cleaning methods to save money. WORST PLACE TO WORK AND TO EAT THERE. I speak now because i feel safe and im still struggling with the trauma they caused...

I have been a loyal Mucho customer for the better part of the last decade. Went to this location today, have been here many times over the years, and wow has it gone downhill. As someone who works out and is always looking for healthier food options with good protein portions and lots of veggies, I’m very disappointed in my food from this location today. The portion of my burrito bowl was so small, literally half the amount of what I’ve ever received in a bowl before - including from this location. I’m still hungry and have to now find something else to eat. The bowl was mostly rice, with the littlest sprinkling of toppings over the rice, like half, if not less than half of what I’m used to - not even a full scoop of chicken, and just sprinkled the cheese ever so lightly, same with the salsa - it was like she was scared to feed me!? For a $14 “meal” and to be hungry at the end of it is not acceptable. The bowl you serve it in should be full not 40% full. Also the vegetables and the chicken were seriously lacking flavour and seasonings? I wanted to say something to the employee about how little of food there was in the bowl for the money I’m paying but she came across super unfriendly and grumpy. So I didn’t. I feel like I wasted my money here due to portion size and flavour. Anyone reading this go to the Mucho on 4th street in Mission or order from there the portions are double what I received here and the flavours are amazing. Oddly enough I believe it’s the same owners, but somehow they do it...

I went here with a friend and will be the last time I come to this location (Other locations are normally 4 or 5 star). There was a man at the till ( I will assume he was the owner). I was friendly with him and asked him if there were any deals (I wasn't looking for a discount, that doesn't exist just wanted to know about any promos happening). He wasn't looking at me and gave a simple 'No' under his breathe. My friend was ready to order and a lady took our orders at the same time and started to build our burritos she got confused and we clarified who wanted what on thiers. I don't eat cheese and requested my cheese portion get put into his order, I explained it to her a couple of times and rather then put the scoop of shredded cheese, she put 2 flakes and proceeded she seen I was upset but said nothing. She pointed to sauces and asked if I wanted any I reminded her I didn't do dairy and I asked what sauce it was and if it had dairy. Her answer 'It's mayo so of course it has eggs' her coworkers and the first man agree. I share my knowledge eggs are not dairy. I pay the man he has ZERO energy, Mucho Burrito please have Franchisees that have passion and hire staff that care.
