Getting out with 4 kids is crazy hard, so when we do we want it to be crazy tasty 😉
Namo did not disappoint - wow!! First off we were welcomed by the friendliest server. He had so much patience with my ASD children and never once acted impatient. Then the food came - taste explosion!! Mango Crepe was so tasty. My daughter has texture issues with banana so it was a bit of an unfortunate surprise when she didn't read the menu fully. But if you love bananas - the combination of flavor works super well. Tirimasu waffle was a wonderful surprise. Tirimasu is often mushy this was not. Rich with flavor and felt like so much decadence. Chicken and waffles was our absolute favorite. As it is such a classic dish, we were tempted not to order it, but so glad we did. They took this classic and amplified it. First bite hit my tastebuds and it was like silence filled the room (heaven to a mom of 4). Steak and eggs Benedict and the rice bowl breakfast (the one for the food bank - I just can't remember the name) were also huge successes but I confess our bellies started to get so full we packaged it up to save for later.
What an absolute heart warming, belly filling, joy bringing experience. Love the staff, love the food, love the atmosphere - really the artwork...
Read moreI was meeting up with a friend for brunch and planning on spending some time catching up. Just as we were about to finish our meals, food still on our plates and in the middle of conversation the waitress comes by with the bills and says they need the table and are kicking us out.
The restaurant was more than half empty and plenty of other tables for guests. We had planned to stay a bit longer and finish catching up but instead had to go to a second location.
Food was good but if you aren't allowed to enjoy the atmosphere and the company you're with what is the point.
With so many other good breakfast places in Calgary I can definitely say that this was the last time I will be visiting Namo
In response to the owner I have time-stamped transactions on my debit card showing us paying at 11:20 am and our plates definitely had food still on them.
If the restaurant was full and you really needed the table we would have no problem leaving but with a half empty restaurant just seems like poor customer service to kick out patrons who were just enjoying their morning brunch and trying...
Read moreWe've been to the Edmonton Trail location to have brunch and were intereseted to try out their dinner offering. Unfortunately, it's only offered at the Macleod Trail South location which is pretty far from where we usually go. We started with the Crispy Calamari Katsu. We were a little surprised with the style, it's a more breaded and deep-fried taste than the way calamari is normally done. The gochujang aioli was a very nice dip. For mains we had the roasted lamb and the kalbi rib-eye. Both dishes were very good and a little spicy. The sauces for both dishes were both delicious. We like lamb with a little stronger taste but it's a style that seems to be out of favour currently. We finished with the choclate & raspberry cake which was like a mug-baked brownie crumbled into a glass of raspberry compote and ice cream. A very good dessert. Service was good and the restaurant is large and spacious with an open viewing kitchen and tastefully decorated. If we're in the area again, we'd love to try some of the other dishes. They're all an interesting fusion of...
