Nikos Pizza — Restaurant in Calgary

After raising the issue from March 4, 2022 regarding a problem with my orders, I was contacted by the owner of Nikos and he was apologetic, polite and professional. He offered my lady and I two fresh pizzas to compensate for our previous order and these pizzas were exceptional.

We were so glad to sink our teeth into these delightful pies and enjoy the flavor Nikos is noted for.

I will be back many more times especially since the owner is standing strong behind his fine product.

UPDATE: MARCH 4, 2022 ** 2 Stars My girlfriend and I visited Nikos tonight and were not impressed at all. After dining on this pizza several times over the last year, tonight really was a let down.

My girlfriend ordered one of the veggie pizzas and it lacked two of the toppings she asked for. So she immediately returned it. The server began to argue about it saying that she delivered as promised, but I had been standing right beside my girlfriend and heard the order and, in fact, the server had read it back to her to confirm. So, she relented and made her a fresh one.

I ordered a simple pepperoni, ham & green pepper extra large. It cost $34 and there were only 5 tiny little pieces of chopped pepper on the entire pizza. I didn't bother to return it but will be calling the owner tomorrow and raising this issue to them.

$30 plus dollars and am ripped off a green pepper? Why would you degrade your service over 1 green pepper? The rest of the pie was good but I lost my trust for this place now. I will approach it with wide open eyes if I ever return here again.

Buyers beware!!!...Peel the cheese back and see if your toppings even exist. Do this inspection right at the check out window to confirm one way or the other.

For that heavy price, you better get a generous portion of every topping...PERIOD.

I was introduced to this delicious pizza a month ago when a friend brought a pie to my house. What a pleasant surprise that turned out to be. There are many 5* pizza joints in Calgary and this one is pushing 6. Dee...frickin...liscious!!! I tried the American Cheeseburger tonight and it not only was super mouth watering good but also very filling. I could only eat two pieces, which means this pizza will feed me for several days. Great value for the money. I had the xlarge one. Their crunchy cheese layer covering the top of the entire pizza is the clincher. Never have I seen or tasted this before. What a unique and wonderful palette teaser this is.

I've gone here a handful of times over the last year for takeout, ordered over the phone. Pretty good pizza, considering they're using conveyor ovens and not deck style pizza ovens. I would have given Nicko's a 3/5 or maybe 4/5, but I'm only giving a 2 based on my most recent visit there a few weeks ago. When I walked in, you could cut the smoke at the front of the store with a knife. Even a couple of Uber Eats guys couldn't stand breathing the smoke, and stepped outside to get some fresh air. Glancing into the kitchen, I could see the smoke factor was much worse there. I highly recommend they clean their ovens more frequently, as clearly this was burning grease. It really doesn't matter how busy you are, take some downtime and clean your ovens! I ordered a Hawaiian pizza, and every bite tasted like the burning grease in your ovens! I doubt very much I'll be back again. Why would I waste my hard earned money to eat a pizza that tastes like a grease fire? My other qualm with this place, is that you can't place an order for delivery over the phone. It must be done through their website, which if you ask me is poor service, considering the majority of other pizzerias in this city accept phone-in...

Ordered Hawaiian cause, yes, I like pineapples. Never really had a pizza with the cheese on top & "toppings" on the bottom, but gotta say it was pretty good and I appreciate how with everybite I can see a nice layer of pineapple unlike other places where it's scattered or clumped randomly, or you barley get any at all.

I did order online, and despite the wait/drive (est. 20 minutes) it was still pretty hot when it arrived, and had a pretty good cheese pull. I'm sure it would have an even better cheese pull fresh from the oven if ordered in store.

The sauce is also to my liking. Not too thick or thin, or sour, or just too much like I've experienced else where. It lets the toppings and cheese be the star without overpowering. I do like the slight crisp of the cheese at the surface, and the toppings are cooked but not overdone (protected by the cheese layer). In this case, putting the cheese on top makes sense.

All in all I'm happy I decided to give this place a try as its been on my mind for a few weeks. Today I found out one of my fave pizza places changed delivery hours. Thought about trying this place and they happen to have a buy 1 get 1 online. Worked out well,...
