Parkside Cafe and Sushi — Restaurant in Calgary

For the price and quality in Calgary, this place is amazing, and hopefully, they stay that way! We had the House Special, which is seared duck sushi, and their Parkside sushi special. They were fresh with great flavours, details, smell, and packed evenly. We also tried the mom's cold noodles with spicy oil, and it was surprisingly delicious as the flavors of the dish had a very good composition. The freshness of the cucumber and spice, with sesame oil to perfectly create the nice balance to the shredded chicken and noodle. The dish wasn't as cold like we thought it'd be, but it felt close to room temperature or slightly under.

One of the things that really elevates this place to 5 stars for me is their bubble tea drinks. It's amazing for the price($2.99, and I loved the Taiwanese milk tea), and the flavor is more packed than any other bubble tea places I've been so far in Calgary. Sadly, their pearls were sold out when we were there, but their Taiwanese milk tea still hit the spot! Their selections are rather limited, but this was the best flavour out of the 3 we tried (Coffee and Matcha were the other 2 but still yummy!).

As for the servers, they were very friendly and cleaned our table thoroughly. It felt like they had a lot of care for the food and the customers. A great experience.

The pricing is extraordinary and extremely reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. I’ve had the pleasure of trying their rolls, Taiwanese chicken, unagi don, tuna poke, salmon poke, and bubble tea—all of which have been delicious. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you’ll leave satisfied every time.

To top it all off, the staff at Parkside Sushi is fantastic. They are always welcoming and attentive, making each visit a wonderful experience. My friends and I dropped by late in the afternoon after a day at the pool, looking for something satisfying—and we were blown away. From the outside, the restaurant is unassuming, but the moment you step in, it’s warm, cozy, and inviting.

The staff made us feel instantly welcome—genuinely friendly and incredibly accommodating. Even though we were the only table in at the time, they went above and beyond, even offering us complimentary beverages, which was such a thoughtful touch.
