Amazing bubble teas and great food. Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience a few times due to incorrect items. I have been going to this place steady for about two weeks for drinks and food. One time I was in-restaurant and a couple of ladies wanted a refund because their order was undercooked. The managers were insisting this wasn't so and after an exchange of words reluctantly refunded the money. They even went on about how this could never be a mistake after the customers left. I judged the situation to be this couple liking their food well done and some menu items say lightly cooked. I have shared this because as a customer dining in I thought it wasnt a good look for business arguing with customers. Fast forward to my experience, I ordered three nights via Skip and each time an item was incorrect although it was correct on the receipt. The last of the nights I decided to walk 10 mins to the eatery with the incorrect item and the receipt. Customer service was amazing. I was apologized to, given the correct item and even a 10 dollar gift card to be used on Skip. Hence, the couple's story used in comparison above. I returned home to find the corrected item was still not what I ordered. I then had to walk back for a refund and no apologies were made just a straight no questions asked refund. So, great food and drinks but if after 2 weeks of me spending over 20 dollars each occasion, you still can get your my order correct. I am no longer a customer. EDIT: JUST READ POPCORN BUTTER'S POST AND THE OWNERS RESPONSE AND IT WAS DEFINITELY THE SAME COUPLE AND THE...
Read moreAwesome bubble tea place in the suburbs - was so excited when I found out I didn't have to go to Chinatown to get my fix!
We've been coming here pretty much once a week for the last couple months. It's a nice walk from our house and has been something to look forward to at the end of the day after working from home and being stuck inside all day.
They have an excellent selection of traditional teas and milk teas, chocolate and fruit smoothies. I have yet to try their cheese foam teas because I tend to get my personal favourites - Ceylon Rose tea with pearls or their Dirty Milk Tea with Oolong base! Always get tapioca pearls, one time they ran out and I had the aloe which was decent, but they also have a variety of other "toppings" like popping pearls and jelly.
As with most bubble tea places sometimes their pearls aren't at the optimal chewiness but they're usually pretty generous in the pearl amount. We've also tried their bucket chicken and takoyaki which were both pretty good! Food took awhile but I think that day, lots of people were ordering...
Read moreWhat a TERRIBLE experience at PurrTea. We ordered the matcha bubble waffle, waited patiently 20 minutes for the waffle only to have handed to us a waffle burnt to a crisp, 99% black and charred (not the photo attached). When I told the person who handed it to me, she told me this is normal and that I wouldnât know because Iâm âwhiteâ and Iâve probably never had it before. Iâve had many around Calgary and all around Asia, and BURNT BLACK is not normal. This thing was also quite expensive and overpriced. I asked if she could make it again and she rolled her eyes and grunted while saying âitâll come out the same but okay whateverâ. Waited another 10 minutes and got one that wasnât even whole (see pic). The bubbles werenât stuck together, AND it was still burnt. Not as bad as the first though, luckily. The photo is of the second attempt. She didnât even hand it to me, she threw it on the counter upset and told me to take it. Not a good experience. Wouldnât recommend.
We visited the 17th Ave location yesterday and got beverages and had a wonderful...
