I honestly love this place. Ive been getting their shawarmas, falafels, samosas and way more for at least 6 years. Im a huge fan. Their falafels are my favourite in the city. I don’t even know why but the way they prepare them just feels so on point, like it’s real falafel. I always get the falafel and eggplant shawarma. I must say: if you have not tried this, I highly recommend you do at least once in your life. It’s the perfect combination. The moisture of the eggplant mixed with the falafel is heaven. If you’re vegan just get it without the garlic sauce! I swear you won’t be disappointed. Service is top notch, the people that work here are very sweet and dedicated to the quality of their products. I have always been treated excellently, and in various occasions, I have even been treated to a drink or a baklava. I can only speak highly of Shawarma and Falafel City, definitely the best shawarmas and falafels in town. I have tried many other well known places in Calgary, but this is the only one for me: by far the best flavour, and also...
Read moreI was there for first time today and it will be the last. The dish I chose was the kafta kebab. It was so overcooked I could not even get a fork into it and could not break it with a piece of pita. I left almost all of it on the table and did not eat it. They also use the dreadful thin wood knives and forks. The fork would not even pierce a pepper. I had to shovel the salad into my mouth.
I deliberately did not bring this up until after I paid so they would not accuse of wanting a free meal, nor did I after I paid. What I got was no response at all when I told them that the beef in the kebab was so overcooked that it was also impossible to chew. Although I did not tell them this, it was dry like beef flavoured sawdust held together with glue. The food was slopped into the container when it was brought to my table.
They were not the least bit interested in what I had to say. Talk about rude. AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT LIKE THE PLAGUE. DREADFUL MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD. On my mother's side, I have Middle Eastern heritage and know what good...

If you get a wrap, I highly recommend to get the LAMB W/ BEEF or the EGGPLANT & POTATO one.
The eggplant and potato option is far superior than the falafel. The falafel may actually be the weakest of what they offer in their wraps.
They also have MOZZARELLA STICKS which are surprisingly good and not the same sad ones that you expect for late night take away. You can only order this in the store. I don't think it's on any of the delivery apps.
It's not "authentic" but the mozzarella sticks are really good!
For the other sides, the potatoes and deep fried mushrooms are just okay. It's the only place I've ever eaten deep fried mushrooms and it's not for me. The water from the mushrooms is trapped under the fried layer so there's a burst of liquid when you bite into them.
The roasted potatoes side isn't anything extraordinary. It's just potatoes like you would make at home. I would get SAMOSAS instead. It has potatoes but also other things. Samosas can be ordered...
