Some of the worst customer service I've had, truly a shame as I would have become an extremely loyal customer as the food was delicious (the only reason I'm giving 2 stars). Sunday (May 28), a friend and I who frequent the crossroads market weekly decided to change it up and get a breakfast sandwich from Wayne's Bagels in the morning. Firstly, we walked up, smiles on our faces, and I greeted the girl working and asked how she was. She stared at me with a scowl on her face, not saying hi or answering my greeting. After about 45 seconds of her staring at us angrily, I ordered first, asking for the Morning Bagel, and asked if I could add tomato. She told me it was going to cost $1.75 (absolutely SHOCKING that a single slice of tomato is almost $2, but no problem) I told her that was okay. My friend proceeded to order, asking for the Morning Bagel as well, but asked if she could sub the bacon for tomato, to which I followed up saying she was vegetarian. The employee seemed terribly put off and acted as though this was problematic (we all know the business is better off keeping their expensive bacon and giving away cheap tomato). It appeared we'd entirely ruined her morning she was so miserable, but we paid and waited 5 minutes for our sandwiches. After getting them and finding somewhere to sit, we opened them up and mine did not have my almost $2 slice of tomato. Typically I'd let this go if it were $0.25 or $0.50, but simply on principle, I walked back to the booth to ask for her to toss a slice of tomato into a box. When I arrived back, I politely told her the tomato had been forgotten (no problem! it was forgotten and a small error). She proceeded to tell me it was not an error and she'd put the tomato I paid for on my friends sandwich and not mine. I was confused by this as I had ordered first and I didn't understand the confusion. She proceeded to argue with me that I had not paid for tomato on mine, but instead paid for tomato on my friends where the bacon had been removed. This was not what had been discussed, but in the moment, feeling frustrated, I told her that in that case, I'd like the bacon that would have been on my friends bagel (that was paid for in the price of the sandwich originally), to which she raised her voice at me and told me no, arguing and talking over me so I couldn't even speak. So incredibly disappointing as we thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches and are at the market every weekend, sometimes multiple times. Won't go back after such unhappy, miserable and unreasonable service. What ever happened to keeping the customer happy, or giving the customer what they paid for?! Or at a minimum welcoming paying customers ... can't even expect...
Read moreI absolutely love Wayne’s Bagels! It’s our go-to spot for breakfast or brunch, and my partner and I always look forward to coming here. The bagels on their menu are delicious, and they offer a great variety of both sweet and savory options.
One of my absolute favorites is the maple pecan cream cheese. It’s so rich, creamy, and decadent—a must-try if you’re in the mood for something sweet. It’s like having a dessert for breakfast!
For savory bagels, our favorite is the chicken pesto on a rosemary bagel. The combination is just perfect. We’ve also tried the smoked meat Mighty Bagel, which is tasty but quite large and a bit messy. Regardless of what you choose, you can taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients they use.
While the bagels are on the pricey side, I believe they’re worth every penny. The flavors and quality make it a worthwhile treat.
The shop itself is quite small, with limited seating, and there can be a bit of a wait as they prepare each bagel fresh. However, the wait is always worth it for the delicious food. If you’re looking for authentic Montreal-style bagels, I would 100% recommend Wayne’s Bagels. Just be prepared for a cozy, intimate...
Read moreWe visited this establishment on many occasions when we visited MEC; unfortunately, this visit had to be the worst experience, and will most likely never return.
I purchased two salmon classics; like I have done so in the past. And, like we have done so in the past; we waited to enjoy our sandwiches once we got home to our home in Cochrane. What we received was salmon that stunk once you placed it close enough to your mouth. Literally made me want to throw up. I even left a tip; thinking it would be like always. No paper wrapping like last month, no pickle like last month; and the salmon was also from last month it seems. Very disappointed in the service as well. Perhaps you need to lower the music so that your employees can hear the correct orders as well. 40 + tip down the drain with this order. We'll done!
AMBER! This is in reference to your reply; as I am unable to reply to your comment you left for me to contact you at the number you provided. I have called three times and have left my contact number for you to contact me. I would appreciate a call back as per our reply...
