Great atmosphere but after ordering food found that they were out chicken dishes and after ordering beer found that they were out of the ones we ordered. It was on a Tuesday. Restaurant should not be out of food and drinks. We were here to celebrate a birthday and as per our server I didn’t appreciate that she didn’t want to put some of the items that come with my meal on the side and I basically had to argue with her to put things on the side. I was trying to order the steak. The server also told me it was going to be a hour to cook my steak. With all of the arguing with her I was frustrated and decided to change my order to the roasted chicken. This should be straightforward. So I ordered the chicken and then the server comes back to tell me they are out of chicken. So I went back and ordered the steak. After about 45 min of waiting I received my steak and was not pleased to find that it was cold. , but cooked to medium well as ordered. Server did no ask me not even once if I would like a refill of my coke. The only thing good I can say is she did a nice jester of putting sparkler in my daughter’s desert because we were celebrating her birthday. Needless to say my daughter was very upset with the arguing with the server which should never happen and my daughter was ready to leave At that point but we had to convince her to stay.

With the amount I spent that night I would have expected for the restaurant to have a full menu or at least be advised before I ordered that they didn’t have some items. The server was very rude and should not be telling me what to eat. I eat a a lot of high end restaurants and have never run into such poor service. The server really did ruin my daughter’s birthday. I really feel bad for my daughter to remember this birthday dinner .For a special occasion it’s something I would like to remember but it was a night I would really wish that...

I passed by The Bridgette Bar while walking around the city yesterday and decided to look them up online and walk in tonight. I was excited about the food from what I saw online, but I was not ready for the experience I was about to have.

First of all, the hosts were super friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in through the door, even though they were a flight up from me. They proceeded to inquire where I would feel most comfortable dining tonight (I was lucky as it was not a busy night - Halloween and all). I chose the lounge upstairs.

Very shortly after I sat down, Jesse (from the bar) came up and got me a glass of water. We then chatted a little bit about the menu and having never been there before, he was able to give me well thought out and relevant recommendations, all of which I took.

I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and I have to say Jesse was exceptional. He knew exactly when to come and check in and knew exactly when I was perhaps not ready to be approached and backed up when he realized this. He was also very easy to talk to and had great knowledge of the food and bar menu. His recommendations, down to the dessert, was bang on!

And then there was the food … I actually had a few moments when I just sat there smiling relishing all the flavours that were in my mouth. Everything was so spot on. The textures, the combination of flavours, the preparation and presentation. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. And Jesse’s mocktail recommendation of a “surprise something or other with ginger” was so good!!!

The spot, the music, the food, and especially the people really made my solo night in an unfamiliar city on Halloween really special. I for sure will be back when I can and would not hesitate recommending The Bridgitte Bar to all of my friends...

We stopped in here for just a little snack. Ordered a few appetizers and dishes we say recommended online.

Spice beet salad - combination of mint, dill, pickled shallots with a whipped feta dressing. Dressed with chopped up pistachio and herbs. This salad dish has more of an East Indian twist. I got a taste of cumin in it. The mint and dill was interesting. I did like the mint addition but I found this salad a bit salty for my liking.

Eggplant Fries - this dish was very good. Nice and light and crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. Served with a yogurt dip sauce that went with it quite well.

Brussels Sprouts - The Brussels sprouts is a bit over cooked making it mushy and lacking that nice crunch. Wish it wasn’t over cooked. The Brussels sprouts need to be more grilled. The sauce was delicious it had a slight hint of horseradish. I did not taste any truffle in the sauce. This dish had so many layers of flavours. The chestnut gave the sauce that thickness. I enjoyed it! Even tough it was a little over cooked the sauce really saved it!

Rigatoni - pasta was cooked really well. Not too chewy. Served in a creamy mushroom sauce topped off with shaved parmesan. With the added Parmesan really make this dish salty. But good flavour overall.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Would be very interested in trying out their main dishes and maybe a few other dishes. I would probably not order the beet salad again. The service was great as well. No complaints there. I would recommend the other dishes we had for sure!

Fantastic meal. We started off with the eggplant fries with the green yogurt harrissa sauce, and the garlic bread (which I would rename garlic bread bombshells). The harissa sauce so so good I have decided to dedicate a good chunk of time to figure out how to make it. I love eggplant and it was so crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, not too greasy. The garlic bread bombshells were like the most amazing mozzarella sticks with a sourdough crust type experience. So good. We then ordered the grilled lamb and the steak. Steak dish - My husband wasnt a fan of the horse raddish but still liked it. The cheese was awesome with the steak. The crispy mashed potato was fun, but was a little underwhelming without the cheese sauce. The broccolini was great. The lamb dish - the lamb was amazing. The most tender and juice lamb I have ever had. The mint falafel was a fun mixup instead of mint jelly (I think jelly is gross) however, the mint was a little overpowering on the inside of the falafel and tasted a little like soap. The falafel was not greezey and was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. Just the soapy flavor was a little disappointing. Zucchini was great! We also got the banana cream pie which was AWESOME!!! salty crust, fluffy cream, a mix of fresh banana and scrummy banana pudding. So worth the $10. Also we got 2 mocktails The midnight brambler and the summer '69 both were a perfect match to our meal!
