Seems like it would be a nice enough place; however, the lady that runs it was extremely rude towards me and my friend who had, up until now, been repeat customers.
The first poor experience we had was her staring at us the entire time while we waited for our order, making us feel very uncomfortable.
The next time we went back she forced one of her employees to confront my friend who was not wearing a mask due to their medical exemption. The employee was decent and respectful about it. The manager then proceeded to flip out and started lecturing and raising her voice at us from across the café, even telling my friend that they "need to use their brain."
Funnily enough, she was not wearing her mask while preparing food and telling off my friend. She then grabbed her phone to start taking photos and continued to stare both of us down as though we were criminals.
Needless to say the drinks this time tasted 'off' to say the least. She definitely put something weird into our drinks out of pure spite and we were forced to throw them out. And these drinks were not cheap, $7 for one small.
I feel terrible for the people employed under her and I will definitely NEVER be returning. 1 star is 1 too many...
Read moreI love this place! I first started coming here a year and half ago and it never fails to delight. I eat lunch here almost every day. With the recently added winter menu there are new and different options but the quality and healthy but super tasty tradition continues. I don't have any food issues but love that Wise and Wright has lots of choices that are vegan, vegetarian and gluten friendly. The new menu offerings I have tried so far are the Colorblind and Avocado Remix built up toast. Both are excellent. The Colorblind is a super healthy and very tasty veggie bowl - with a choice of Mild Romesco Sauce or Spicy Harissa Tahini Sauce there is a flavour profile for everyone. The Avocado Remix suits my love of breakfasts all day. The addition of the herbed mushrooms brings a nice new taste and the walnuts provide a satisfying crunchiness. A sophisticated update to avocado toast. Looking forward to trying the new Elixir Lattes. First on my list is the Longevity Bone Broth Elixir. If you haven't been here yet, give this place a try. You won't regret it. With all the food, beverage and smoothie choices there is something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for downtown and the staff...
Read moreI did like this place and I feel like if I was to continue to go, my opinion would move up to a 4 or 5 star rating, however, on my first visit I ordered (based on the cashier's recommendation) the peanut noodle bowl and I found it to be really saucy and really heavy and about 30 minutes later, I actually feel a little uncomfortable (I think my stomach is just very full and heavy) - the majority of the bowl is noodles with thick sauce. The cucumbers in the dish seemed frost bitten (transparent and a bit soggy). My colleague got the coconut curry chicken bowl which had great flavor. My concern however, and the reason for the 3 star instead of 4 would be that I wasn't able to find nutritional information.
In my mind, if people are wanting to find and eat at 'healthy' restaurants, they're also interested in nutritional info as food can be quite sneaky. So my SAUCY noodle bowl and her COCONUT curry might not have been that healthy at all. So that would be of interest to me.
I would go again, and try another dish. The venue is nice and the feel is good. Plus service was...
