EVENT PRODUCERS BEWARE: Sales team will tell you capacities that are off by hundreds of seats, will not let you know the ENTIRE building is shrouded in staging and construction, they lie about F&B costs and entice event hosts into using their venue and don’t produce rental agreements (which are completely different than what was disclosed) until days before a show when its impossible to cancel. Most importantly they require 100% up front payment (they cashed our cheque writin 15 minutes of us writing it for them...can anyone say broke??) AND after we finished the event, they never contacted us again. They still have our damage deposit and never sent us any info about reconciliation. Dealing with them was almost impossible. Spoke to a dozen different people in a dozen roles for a dozen things. No account managers. We didn’t know who to ask what, and when we complained we had to get on a call with 6 people, all of whom had different opinions and no one seemed to have any authority, nor care about our concerns. Worst venue we’ve ever dealt with. No continuity, and worst of all- straight up stole our damage deposit, and clearly needed the money so bad they said whatever they needed to in order to get our cheque up front, which would have never been written had we had any idea how much of a disarray the venue and staff is...

I had made arrangements with the theatre to take my wedding photos inside the theatre. I was so very appreciative that they were willing to allow us the space. The theatre requested I share my wedding photos with them, so I got approval from my photographer all set prior to the big day. After my wedding ceremony, my entire family and photographer show up to the theatre to discover that the doors are locked and the theatre was dark inside. We banged on the doors to no avail. As a bride this just stops you in your tracks. I had done everything right and had made all of the prior arrangements, but sadly due to a lack of communication, my wedding photos were severely impacted. I had to beg another place to take photos at the drop of a hat and lost precious time to have photos taken. I called the theatre to receive an apology (no one called me when we didn't show up), but of course nothing can bring back that day when our families and ourselves had flown into Calgary for the big day. So disappointed and...

Theatre Junction GRAND recently hosted our wedding in August. While we loved the space from our first visit (and partnership with Workshop Kitchen + Culture), we were quickly impressed by the passion, professionalism and expertise of Theatre Junction GRAND's team. The entire staff - event coordinator, production manager, the lighting and sound technicians and crew - went above and beyond to create a flawless, beautiful and magical day. Jordan and Karen were amazing to work with, and we felt immediately at ease that this day was in the best hands it could be. Using lighting, sound and decor elements, Theatre Junction GRAND brought our vision to life and made an awesome day even better. Thank you Jordan and Karen for your commitment to excellence, to us and our guests, and...

Modern venue space for a large group event. It is a functional theatre space and as such, is exceptionally dark with absolutely no natural light. A good, master lighting technician will be the key to transforming your event into the incredible soiree you are envisioning. The chandeliers add a unique touch of elegance. The staircase and many of the original elements remain and speak to the historicity of the space. It is recommended that you hire a car service to attend an event here, as there is not a significant amount of on street parking nearby.

What a treat to see Practical Magic on the big screen at The Grand! The atmosphere was perfect for such a beloved cult classic, and the theatre itself made the experience feel special from start to finish. The space was clean and welcoming, and the whole evening had that cozy, nostalgic vibe you want when you revisit a favourite film. I really enjoyed the non-alcoholic drink options and food. I’ll definitely be back for more screenings.

Super cool building, some of the original interior still remains and I love it. The bar also adds to this same atmosphere with unique detailed inconsistent bulbs. My girlfriend asked me if they were going to finish up the entrance and make it new, I said I hope not. It's a cool spot, I'm not sure what they do here when it's not a comedy show but I would be back for the right show.
