XS Lounge and Grill — Restaurant in Calgary

Wow if I could give this place negative stars I would. Went here with my family for an early fathers day get together. The "server" we had, named Amber, was extremly rude and unprofessional and couldn't even greet us properly when we walked in. The table never got cleared when we sat done and didn't want the wine glasses, our food wasn't taken away when we were finished, and she wouldn't communicate with us at all. We waited for a refill of our water glasses for 35 minutes, after which we had finished our meal and dessert, and another server had to bring us our refill. Now the food. The steaks my dad and step mom had were not at all cooked to order, and did not include what was described on the menu. The siderib that my partner was was served with an awful, wilted, limp and soggy pieces of spinach around the bowl. My step brothers' kids meal was served with veggies when he wanted fries. When we told this to the server she said that he said he wanted veggies, when in fact she didn't ask at any point what side he wanted. Now the fish and chips that I had are after making me sick. While thenfries were good, the fish was beyond awful. Rubbery and pink in some bits. I have been sick since leaving the resturant. The desserts that we had weren't much better either. The chocolate cake was dry and whatever cream filling they had on the inside and on the outside tasted off and was unapeeling. The white chocolate brownie did not have any white chocolate at all, so? It was esentially a rectange chocolate chip muffin with a scoop of ice cream. This "brownie" was so hard and dry it tasted as if it was left out on a counter for a week and then served. I am completely dissapointed with the service and the food I recieved at your restaurant. If possible, I would like a manager to contact me as this was an unnaceptable experience. Without the terrible service an food, the fact that we waited 35 minutes for a refill should not be allowed and some disciplinary action should be taken. I will not be...

When we saw the buffet from inside the hotel, we went in for dinner and were waiting to be greeted or seated. After awhile and nobody in sight, we walked through the buffet past endless dirty tables to get to the lounge. There was only one server/attendant and the language barrier was rough. She explained that we could sit down to eat but we would have to leave within 15 minutes as it was 9:45pm and they closed at 10pm, typically in restaurants once the kitchen has closed you can no longer order anything else, but guests can finish their meal in the restaurant so that felt unwelcoming. Instead decided to just go somewhere else.

In the morning we got up early and headed down for the breakfast opening at 6:30am. We could see the attendant inside the buffet area but the doors were locked. We tried to signal to her as it was now 6:40am and she just stared at us and ignored us. Finally as we were walking away we heard the door unlocked so we went back in. We wanted to order from the restaurant instead of the 16$ continental. She seemed super confused about this, and we explained we were ordering to go. She then had to go ask the chef if that was okay, then she gave us the menus. We had questions about the menu items and everytime she had to go back and ask the chef, she had no idea anything about the menu. I understand if she's a breakfast bar attendant and not a waitress, but nobody was on shift in the lounge to properly serve us at the restaurant. Which wasn't a cheap meal. After waiting what felt like forever we got our meal, and took it up to our room to get the heck out of there. It was such a weird and uncomfortable experience both times in the eating area there. I'd recommend bringing your own food or going somewhere else, especially since continental breakfast isn't even included unless you...

My fiance's parents were in town for Christmas & staying at the adjoining Radisson Hotel. We were having what was supposed to be our Christmas dinner with 8 adults & one child, so a fairly large table. There was only one other table of 2 occupied in the restaurant and the waitress took about 20 minutes to just take our drink orders, then another 30 minutes to bring our drinks. The alcoholic drinks were watered down, or not full. After she dropped off the drinks she didn't even bother asking us if we were ready to order our food. My future Father in Law found the manager & complained. The manager simply said the waitress was busy & couldn't give us her full attention. She was not busy, we barely even saw her in the dining room area, she was always hiding in the back kitchen area. When we asked the manager to fill the drinks that didn't come out full, he argued with us for 5 minutes before caving. Finally the waitress took our order. The food took about another 30 minutes to come out. All of the food was way below average & over priced. More than half our party couldn't stomach their food. Everyone who had salad said the lettuce tasted like it hadn't been washed. Someone ordered the salmon, which came topped with All Dressed Potato Chips. The food quality was definitely poor.
